Ron McLean (writer)
Ron McLean (1943–1983) was an Australian screenwriter, producer and executive producer, best known for his work on TV. He wrote most of the episodes for ''Spyforce'', which he helped create. He had a long collaboration with producer Roger Mirams. Biography McLean was running a woman's shoe shop in Double Bay, Sydney, when he read an article about a TV series being made in Australia, ''Riptide (Australian TV series), Riptide'' (1969). He sent them a couple of stories which the show liked and he taught himself how to adapt them into scripts. He wrote some episodes of ''Skippy the Bush Kangaroo'' and did sketches for ''The Mavis Bramston Show''. He came much in demand in the early 1970s, writing a number of shows for Crawford Productions. McLean met Roger Mirans when working on ''Woobinda, Animal Doctor''. The two formed a company, South Pacific Films, which made ''Spyforce''. ''Spyforce'' is an Australian television series that aired from 1971 to 1973 on Nine Network. The series was based upon the adventures of Australian Military Intelligence operatives in the South West Pacific theatre of World War II, South West Pacific during World War II. It was produced by Nine Network in conjunction with Paramount Pictures. The series centres on the action and adventures of lead actor Jack Thompson (actor), Jack Thompson's character Spyforce#Erskine, Erskine, and his main support character, Peter Sumner's Spyforce#Gunther Haber, Gunthar Haber. ''Homicide'' is an Australian television police procedural drama series broadcast on the Seven Network and produced by Crawford Productions. It was the television successor to Crawfords' radio series ''D24''. After self-financing the pilot episode, Hector Crawford shopped it around commercial networks for nearly a year, before a series was commissioned in 1964 by Melbourne HSV (TV station), HSV7 station manager Keith Cairns, although HSV's partner station in Sydney, ATN, initially refused to participate. Glenview High
''Glenview High'' is an Australian television drama series produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation for the Seven Network between 1977 and 1978. Story English teacher Greg Walker ( Grigor Taylor) transfers from the country to Glenview High, a tough high school in Sydney. He clashes with rebellious students Tony Moore ( Brandon Burke) and Danny Smith (Brett Hinch). Despite his toughness, Tony has a grudging respect for Mr Walker while Danny is only interested in being popular with the female students. Rebecca Gilling (born 3 November 1953) is an Australian former model and actress, now environmentalist. Career Gilling made her debut in theatre in 1972and her debut film role in the 1974 biker film ''Stone'' but came to prominence that year in the '' Number 96'' feature film version, as the "bad girl" flight attendant Diana Moore even though she was not a member of the regular TV series cast. Her next acting role was in the action film '' The Man from Hong Kong'' (1975). Gilling went on to act in several television series. She was a regular support character in ''Glenview High'' (1977) and then appeared in '' The Young Doctors'' as Liz Kennedy.
