Roger Jones is a Welsh international lawn bowler and former British champion. Bowls career Jones is twice winner of the Welsh National Bowls Championships singles in 2008 and 2017. British Isles Bowls Championships
The British Isles Bowls Championships is a tournament held between the champions of their respective nations, England Scotland, Wales, combined Ireland and more recently Guernsey and Jersey. It was first held in 1960 although the triples event did not start until 1977. The women's events started in June 1972, with the triples starting in 1982. European Bowls Championships
The European Bowls Championship formerly the European Bowls Team Championships is a biennial continental lawn bowls tournament for European nations. From its inauguration in 1997 until September 2021, the tournament was organised by the European Bowls Union (EBU). In September 2021, the members of what was the "European Bowls Union" (E.B.U.) voted unanimously, to rebrand and be replaced by the newly formed, limited company, Bowls Europe Ltd (registered in Scotland). The competition now features the traditional four disciplines of singles, pairs, triples and fours. Bowls, also known as lawn bowls or lawn bowling, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty". The Welsh National Bowls Championships is organised by the Welsh Bowling Association (WBA) which was formed in 1904. The first national championships were held in 1919. The singles title was originally called the Cadle Cup named after P.C Cadle who presented the WBA with the cup.
