Robi Botos
Robi Botos is a Hungarian-Canadian jazz pianist. He has recorded several albums as a leader and was the winner of the Concours de Jazz, TD Grand Jazz Award at the 2012 Montreal International Jazz Festival. In 2016, Botos won the JUNO Award for Best Jazz Album of the Year (Solo) for his recording of ''Movin' Forward''. Biography Botos was born in Nyíregyháza to a Roma in Hungary, Roma family, and grew up in Budapest. His first instrument was drums, and at age seven he began playing piano. In 1998 Botos immigrated to Canada and he has been a prominent member of the Toronto jazz scene since. Botos has played with the performers including Michael Brecker, Pat LaBarbera, and Dave Young (bassist), Dave Young among others. In addition to winning the TD Award in 2012 he also won the Montreux Jazz Festival piano competition in 2004. Botos has recorded several albums as a leader of various bands. Robi Ghosh (; 24 November 1931 – 4 February 1997) was an Indian actor known for his work in Bengali cinema. He is known for his comic appeal, though his versatile acting talent brought him success in various kinds of roles. He is probably one of the earliest character actors of Bengali cinema who focused mainly on method acting. Megastar in Bengali film Industry. Röbi Rapp (27 May 1930 – 26 August 2018) was a Swiss actor influential in the European LGBT social movement. He was a female impersonator and cabaret star as well as a member of ''Der Kreis'' (''The Circle''). Biography Rapp was born in Zürich. At a young age he became a Swiss child actor, including starring in the lead role in the 1941 film ''Das Menschlein Matthias''. As an adult, Rapp performed as a female impersonator and was a personal friend of Karl Meier. Rapp worked as a hairdresser and later was a teacher at the hairdressing school of Jonny Fahrny. Alice Robitaille (February 3, 1923 – May 28, 2011), known professionally as Alys Robi, was a Canadian singer from Quebec, mainly remembered for her later French interpretations of Latin American songs.
