Robert W. McCarthy
Robert W. McCarthy (May 28, 1924 – March 19, 2015) was an American politician in the state of Illinois. McCarthy attended Lincoln College and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, earning a law degree. At the University of Illinois, he also played on the football team. He also served with the United States Army during World War II. McCarthy then practiced law in Decatur, Illinois (McCarthy, Rowden & Baker). He also was secretary-treasurer of the Arcade Loan Company and Lincoln Speedway, Inc., and a public administrator and sewer attorney in Logan County and the city of Lincoln respectively. The Illinois House of Representatives is the lower house of the Illinois General Assembly. The body was created by the first Illinois Constitution adopted in 1818. The House under the current constitution as amended in 1980 consists of 118 representatives elected from individual legislative districts for two-year terms with no limits; redistricted every 10 years, based on the 2010 U.S. census each representative represents approximately 108,734 people. Lincoln, Illinois
Lincoln is a city in Logan County, Illinois, United States. First settled in the 1830s, it is the only town in the United States that was named for Abraham Lincoln before he became president; he practiced law there from 1847 to 1859. Lincoln is home to one college - Lincoln Christian University - and two prisons. It is also the home of the world's largest covered wagon and numerous other historical sites along the Route 66 corridor. The population was 13,288 at the 2020 census.
