Robert Jackson (linebacker)
Robert Lee Jackson (born August 7, 1954), nicknamed "Stonewall", is a former National Football League (NFL) linebacker. He starred for Texas A&M University, then played in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons between 1977 and 1982. Football career Jackson attended Texas A&M University and was a consensus College Football All-America Team linebacker and a Lombardi Award finalist for the Aggies in 1976. He was a first-round selection of the Cleveland Browns in the 1977 NFL Draft. Jackson missed his entire rookie season after a preseason knee injury. He suffered another knee injury in the 1978 preseason, but he still appeared in 14 games that season. He was a regular starter for Cleveland in 1980 and 1981, starting 14 games in each season. The Denver Broncos are a professional American football franchise based in Denver. The Broncos compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team is headquartered in Dove Valley, Colorado. Forrest Gregg
Alvis Forrest Gregg (October 18, 1933 – April 12, 2019) was an American professional football player and coach. A Pro Football Hall of Fame offensive tackle for 16 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he was a part of six NFL championships, five of them with the Green Bay Packers before closing out his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys with a win in Super Bowl VI. Gregg was later the head coach of three NFL teams (Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Green Bay Packers), as well as two Canadian Football League (CFL) teams (Toronto Argonauts and Shreveport Pirates). He was also a college football coach for the SMU Mustangs. As a head coach, he led the 1981 Bengals to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 26–21. 1977 NFL Draft
The 1977 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 3–4, 1977, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, New York. The league also held its first supplemental draft, which took place after the regular draft and before the regular season. This was the first draft in the common draft era (since 1967) to be 12 rounds, five rounds fewer than drafts of 1967–1976. The draft remained at 12 rounds through 1992 before being reduced to seven, where it has remained through 2022.
