Robert Dutil is a Canadians, Canadian businessman and politician, who was a Quebec Liberal Party member of the National Assembly of Quebec from 1985 to 1994 and from 2008 to 2015. Background He was born in Saint-Georges, Quebec on April 16, 1950. He is the grandson of politician Édouard Lacroix and the brother of businessman Marcel Dutil. Saint-Georges () is a city in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality, part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region. The population was 32,935 as of the Canada 2021 Census. Route 173 runs through Saint-Georges Est (where it is known as Boulevard Lacroix) and heads south to the border with Maine, United States. The name of the parish and of the city, Saint-Georges, is in homage to George Pozer, the fourth ''seigneur'' of Aubert-Gallion. The Beauce-Etchemin School Board (''Commission scolaire de la Beauce-Etchemin'') has its headquarters on 118th Street. Saint-Georges is home to the Cégep Beauce-Appalaches. Beauce-Sartigan is a regional county municipality in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. The county seat is Saint-Georges. The Chaudière River flows through it. Stéphane Bergeron (born January 28, 1965, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian politician. He served as a Bloc Québécois member of the House of Commons of Canada from 2019 to 2025 and previously served in that office from 1993 to 2005. He served as a Parti Québécois member of the National Assembly of Quebec from 2005 to 2018. He did not seek re-election in 2025. 2008 Quebec General Election
The 2008 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on December 8, 2008. The Quebec Liberal Party, under incumbent Premier Jean Charest, was re-elected with a majority government, marking the first time since the 1950s (when the Union Nationale of Maurice Duplessis won four consecutive elections) that a party or leader was elected to a third consecutive mandate, and the first time for the Liberals since the 1930s, when Louis-Alexandre Taschereau was Premier. The 2008 election also marked the first time that Québec solidaire won a seat. Issues Charest called the election on November 5, saying he needed a "clear mandate" and a majority to handle the economic storm.
