Robert Clarke
Robert Irby Clarke (June 1, 1920 – June 11, 2005) was an American actor best known for his cult classic science fiction films of the 1950s. In succeeding decades he appeared in more conventional television, and in ''The King Family Show'', a variety show based on the family of which his wife Alyce King Clarke was a member. Early life Clarke was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.He attended Kemper Military School where he planned a military career, but asthma prevented his service in World War II. He enrolled in the University of Oklahoma and then the University of Wisconsin, where he began acting. Career After screen tests at 20th Century-Fox and Columbia Pictures, Clarke landed a berth as a contract player at RKO Radio Pictures. ''The Incredible Petrified World'' is a 1959 science fiction film produced and directed by Jerry Warren, and starring John Carradine and Robert Clarke. The film follows four explorers who travel down into the depths of the sea and get stranded in an underwater cavern. The film was completed by Warren in 1957, but remained unreleased until it was distributed in Texas and other Southern states starting in November 1959 and, more widely, in April 1960 on a double feature with Warren's ''Teenage Zombies''. ''The Lone Ranger'' is an American Western television series that aired on the ABC Television network from 1949 to 1957, with Clayton Moore in the starring role. Jay Silverheels, a member of the Mohawk Aboriginal people in Canada, played the Lone Ranger's Native American companion Tonto. Dubbing (also known as re-recording and mixing) is a post-production process used in filmmaking and the video production process where supplementary recordings (known as doubles) are lip-synced and "mixed" with original production audio to create the final product. Often this process is performed on films by replacing the original language to offer voiced-over translations. After sound editors edit and prepare all the necessary tracks—dialogue, automated dialogue replacement (ADR), effects, Foley (filmmaking), foley, and music—the dubbing mixers proceed to balance all of the elements and record the finished soundtrack. John Rolfe
John Rolfe ( – March 1622) was an English explorer, farmer and merchant. He is best known for being the husband of Pocahontas and the first settler in the colony of Virginia to successfully cultivate a tobacco crop for export. He played a crucial role in the Virginia Colony's early economy by introducing a sweeter strain of tobacco from Trinidad, which became a profitable cash crop. Rolfe married Pocahontas, daughter of Native American leader Powhatan, and they had a son named Thomas. Rolfe and Pocahontas traveled to England in 1616 to promote colonization and investment in Virginia. After Pocahontas died, Rolfe returned to Virginia and continued working with tobacco.
