Ripple (My Little Pony)
The ''My Little Pony'' franchise debuted in 1982, the creation of American illustrator and designer Bonnie Zacherle. Together with sculptor Charles Muenchinger and manager Steve D'Aguanno, Bonnie submitted a design patent in August 1981 for "an ornamental design for a toy animal". She was then working for Hasbro. The patent was granted in August 1983. ''My Little Pony'' (''MLP'') is a toy line and media franchise developed by American toy company Hasbro. ''My Little Pony'' is an American animated series produced by Sunbow Productions and Marvel Productions and animated by Toei Animation and AKOM based on the My Little Pony toys released by Hasbro. The series featured as the first segment of a program called ''My Little Pony 'n Friends''. The second segment would be an unrelated cartoon based on another Hasbro franchise – including ''The Glo Friends'', ''MoonDreamers'' and the ''Potato Head Kids''.
