Rigmor Dam
Rigmor Dam (born 18 December 1971) is a Faroese politician and teacher, she has also been working as a journalist for the Faroese paper ''Sosialurin'' before she was elected to the Faroese parliament, the Løgting. She is the current Minister of Education, Research and Culture of the Faroe Islands. Political career Dam was elected member of the Faroese parliament for Social Democratic Party (Javnaðarflokkurin) in 2011. At the 2015 elections she was re-elected. On 15 September 2015 she was elected Minister of Culture in the Cabinet of Aksel V. Johannesen. Helena Dam á Neystabø
Helena Dam á Neystabø (born 10 December 1955) is a Faroese Social Democratic politician. She has been served in the Lagting from 1990 to 2002, 2008 to 2011 and 2015 to 2019, has been a minister in three governments, and has been a member of the Tórshavn municipal council. Biography Neystabø grew up in Copenhagen as the daughter of seminar teacher Ása Hátún and Atli Dam, the Faroese Social Democratic Prime Minister. Her grandfather Peter Mohr Dam was also Prime Minister. Her parents divorced when she was nine years old, and she moved to the Faroe Islands with her mother when she was 13 years of age. Atli Dam
Atli Pætursson Dam (12 September 1932 – 7 February 2005) was a Faroese politician who served as Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands on three occasions, most recently from 1991 to 1993. To this date, he is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Faroese history, having served a total of 16 years. He was born in Tvøroyri in 1932 as the son of Peter Mohr Dam and Sigrid Ragnhild, née Strøm. He was educated engineer in 1964 and worked for the Danish company '' Haldor Topsøe'' until he became prime minister in 1970. He was vice president of the Faroese Mortgage Institution (Føroya Realkreditt) from 1981 to 1985, and again from 1989 until his death. He was elected to the Løgting in 1970 and became Minister of Fisheries the same year, being appointed prime minister in the same year.
