Richie Kaczor
Richie Kaczor (9 December 1952 – April 1993) was an early DJ during disco's infancy in the 1970s. His DJ career began in New Jersey, Kaczor played at clubs in New York City and surrounding states before being asked by nightclub owners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager to begin a residency at Studio 54. Kaczor, along with Nicky Siano, were the two original DJs to play at the New York venue. At Studio 54, Kaczor most notably championed Gloria Gaynor Gloria Gaynor ( née Fowles; born September 7, 1943) is an American singer, best known for the disco era hits "I Will Survive" (1978), " Let Me Know (I Have a Right)" (1979), " I Am What I Am" (1983), and her version of "Never Can Say Goodbye" ( ...'s track " I Will Survive", a song which became widely accepted as a disco anthem. Tom Moulton
Thomas Jerome Moulton (, ; born November 29, 1940) is an American record producer. He experimented with remix in disco music and this led to its wide adoption as a standard practice in the industry. He also invented the breakdown section, and the 12-inch single vinyl format in the process. Life and career Moulton was born in Schenectady, New York, United States, as the oldest of five children to parents who both were jazz musicians. He worked as a model at the Bookings and Ford agencies before beginning his production career. Before that, he had worked in the music industry, first as kid working part-time in record shops, then holding a sales and promotion job at King Records (from 1959 to 1961), and similar positions at RCA and United Artists. ''54'' is a 1998 American drama film about Studio 54, a famous nightclub in New York City, written and directed by Mark Christopher. It stars Ryan Phillippe, Salma Hayek, Neve Campbell, and Mike Myers as Steve Rubell, the club's co-founder. "I Will Survive" is a song by American singer Gloria Gaynor, released in October 1978 as the second single from her sixth album, '' Love Tracks'' (1978). It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. A top-selling song, it is a popular disco anthem, as well as being certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Gloria Gaynor (née Fowles; born September 7, 1943) is an American singer, best known for the disco era hits " I Will Survive" (1978), " Let Me Know (I Have a Right)" (1979), " I Am What I Am" (1983), and her version of " Never Can Say Goodbye" (1974). Early life Gaynor was born Gloria Fowles in Newark, New Jersey, to Daniel Fowles and Queenie Mae Proctor. Her grandmother lived nearby and was involved in her upbringing. Nicky Siano
Nicky Siano (born March 18, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York) is a former resident DJ at Studio 54. Biography In 1971, aged 16, Siano got his first DJing gig at The Roundtable. In February 1973, aged 17, he opened The Gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan with his older brother Joe Siano. ''New York Magazine'' called it "one of the five most visually breathtaking nightspots of our time". The Gallery was, alongside David Mancuso's Loft and Paradise Garage one of the three most important clubs in New Yorks's 1970s underground disco scene. Both Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles worked there before starting DJing. Knuckles said that he and Levan "spent a lot of the time hanging out in the booth, watching Nicki’s every move.
