Richard Vander Wende
Richard Vander Wende is an American visual designer and video game designer best known for his work on the 1992 Disney film ''Aladdin'' and the Cyan Worlds computer game ''Riven''. Career Vander Wende's career began at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), working on projects such as the films ''Willow'' and ''Innerspace'' as a concept designer. Because of a fondness for the old Disney films, Vander Wende took a position at Walt Disney Feature Animation. His early visual development for ''Aladdin'' led directors Ron Clements and John Musker to choose that story as the subject for their next film. Vander Wende eventually became production designer for the film. Following his stint at Disney, Vander Wende became interested in the potential of computer games as a medium for telling a different kind of story. Ronald Francis Clements (born April 25, 1953) is an American animator, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. He often collaborates with fellow director John Musker and is best known for writing and directing the Disney films ''The Great Mouse Detective'' (1986), ''The Little Mermaid'' (1989), ''Aladdin'' (1992), ''Hercules'' (1997), ''Treasure Planet'' (2002), ''The Princess and the Frog'' (2009), and '' Moana'' (2016). Keta (Myst)
Keta is a coastal town in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is the capital of the Keta Municipal District. Keta was an important trading post between the 14th and the late 20th centuries. The town attracted the interest of the Danish, because they felt they could establish a base here without interference from rival European nations. Their first initiative was to place a factory at Keta to sell alcohol. In 1792, a war between Anloga and Keta broke out. Majority of the original people then migrated across the lagoon to Klikor to establish the Somey State with Agbozume as its capital. Keta was then repopulated with people from other areas of the surrounding communities. Faced with the threat of war between Peki and an alliance of the Ashanti and the Akwamu, the North German Missionary Society (also known as the Bremen Missionaries) moved the focus of their activities from Peki to Keta. Myst
''Myst'' is a graphic adventure/puzzle video game designed by the Miller brothers, Robyn and Rand. It was developed by Cyan, Inc., published by Broderbund, and initially released for the Macintosh in 1993. In the game, the player's character travels via a special book to the island of Myst. From there, solving puzzles allows the player to travel to four other worlds which reveal the backstory of the game's characters, one of which the player must eventually choose to aid. The Miller brothers got their start in video game development by creating titles for children. They conceived of ''Myst'' as their first game for adults, receiving funding from Japanese publisher Sunsoft. Development began in 1991 and was Cyan's biggest undertaking to date. Robyn Charles Miller (born August 6, 1966) is the co-founder of Cyan Worlds (originally Cyan) with brother Rand Miller. He served as co-designer of the popular computer game ''Myst'', which held the title of best-selling computer game from its release in 1993 until the release of ''The Sims'' seven years later. He also co-directed and co-lead designed the sequel to ''Myst'', ''Riven'', which was the best-selling computer game of its year of release, 1997. Miller composed and performed the soundtracks to both games. He also acted in Myst, portraying one of the antagonists, Sirrus (with brother and Cyan-cofounder Rand appearing as Achenar and Atrus).
