The Maire Of Bristowe Is Kalendar
''The Maire of Bristowe is Kalendar'' (''Ricart's Calendar'') is a book compiled in the late 15th century by Robert Ricart, town clerk of Bristol, England. The work consists of six parts giving a history of England and of the city of Bristol, a list of civic officers, and details of local customs and ceremonies. Commissioned by mayor William Spencer, the Kalendar was started circa 1478–79. Scribed on vellum, separated by leaves of parchment, the book was reproduced in print in the 19th century for Lucy Toulmin Smith's edition, which omitted some content. It is regarded as one of the earliest examples of a town chronicle outside London. Little is known of Ricart, apart from his office as town clerk and the possibility that he was a merchant, also known as Robert Ricardes. He also appears to have authored parts of the ''Great Red Book of Bristol'', as well as the ''Little White Book''. Both books contain references to his being common clerk and as a witness. His entries in the ...

Maruxa And Coralia Fandiño Ricart
Maruxa Fandiño Ricart (; 4 January 1898 – 13 May 1980) and Coralia Fandiño Ricart (25 August 1914 – 30 January 1983) were two Spanish sisters who became popular figures in the city of Santiago de Compostela during the years of the Francoist dictatorship. Commonly known as the Two Marías (), they were born into a large working-class family in Galicia that became affiliated with the growing anarcho-syndicalist movement of the 1920s and 1930s. After Spanish Nationalists took control of Galicia during the Spanish coup of July 1936, the Fandiño Ricart family fell under heavy social and institutional repression. A number of the brothers escaped capture and carried out clandestine actions against the dictatorship, which brought the sisters under suspicion. Their house was routinely raided by the Falangists and the secret police, who abused, tortured and allegedly raped the sisters. After the arrest of their brothers and the death of their younger sister, along with their con ...

Alcàsser Girls
Desirée Hernández Folch, Miriam García Iborra, and Antonia Gómez Rodríguez, collectively known as the Alcàsser Girls (Valencian: ''Les xiquetes d'Alcàsser'', Spanish: ''Las niñas de Alcácer''), were three teenage girls from Alcàsser, Valencia, Spain, who were kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered after hitchhiking to visit a nightclub in the nearby town of Picassent on 13 November 1992. The case became notorious in Spain because of the brutality of the crimes, the highly-criticised police investigation and the resulting media coverage. Autopsies revealed the existence of seven hairs with seven distinct DNA profiles, none of them belonging to any of the girls or either of their alleged murderers, Antonio Anglés and Miguel Ricart. Of the two, Ricart was the only one jailed; the whereabouts of Anglés, still among Interpol's most wanted criminals, remains unknown. Disappearance On 13 November 1992,

Ricart–Agrawala Algorithm
The Ricart–Agrawala algorithm is an algorithm for mutual exclusion on a distributed system. This algorithm is an extension and optimization of Lamport's Distributed Mutual Exclusion Algorithm, by removing the need for release messages. It was developed by computer scientists Glenn Ricart and Ashok Agrawala. Algorithm Terminology * A ''site'' is any computing device which runs the Ricart-Agrawala Algorithm * The ''requesting site'' is the site which is requesting to enter the critical section. * The ''receiving site'' is every other site which is receiving a request from the requesting site. Algorithm Requesting Site * Sends a message to all sites. This message includes the site's name, and the current timestamp of the system according to its logical clock (''which is assumed to be synchronized with the other sites'') Receiving Site * Upon reception of a request message, immediately sending a timestamped ''reply'' message if and only if: :* the receiving process is not ...
