Pointe-aux-Trembles (electoral District)
Pointe-aux-Trembles () was a municipality, founded in 1674, that was annexed by Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1982. This was the last city to be merged into Montreal until the 2002 municipal reorganization. On January 1, 2002 this neighbourhood at the far east end of the Island of Montreal became part of the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles–Montréal-Est. On January 1, 2006 Montréal-Est, Quebec, Montreal East demerged, and the borough became Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles#Geography, Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles. Verchères () is a provincial riding in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. It corresponds exactly to the territory of Marguerite-D'Youville Regional County Municipality. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). It disappeared in the 1939 election and its successor electoral district was Richelieu-Verchères; however, it was re-created for the 1944 election. On the sovereignty question, it defined itself as autonomist; it had support from nationalists and federalists. Scott McKay (born December 2, 1960) is a Canadian politician, who served as a former leader of the Green Party of Quebec and a former Montreal council member. McKay was elected in 2008 to the Quebec National Assembly for the Parti Québécois but he was defeated in the 2014 Quebec election. Background McKay was born to a francophone mother and an Irish-anglophone father in the town of Montréal-Est. He has completed a M.Sc. in Environmental sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal and is currently working in the field of water treatment. Lise Lavallée (born March 4, 1957) is a Canadian politician. She was the member of the Quebec National Assembly for the Coalition Avenir Québec in the riding of Repentigny, having been elected in the 2014 and 2018 Quebec elections, not re-offering in 2022. Repentigny () is an off-island suburbs, off-island suburb of Montreal, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located North Shore (Laval), north of the city on the lower end of the L'Assomption River, and on the Saint Lawrence River. Repentigny and Charlemagne, Quebec, Charlemagne were the first towns off the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. Repentigny is part of the Lanaudière region. History It was founded in 1670 by Jean-Baptiste Legardeur de Repentigny, Jean-Baptiste Le Gardeur, son of Seigneur Pierre Le Gardeur. During the town's first 250 years, Repentigny was only inhabited by a few hundred peasants, or habitants, and was an agricultural community. In 1677, the first population census only shows 30 inhabitants. Its first mayor was Benjamin Moreau 1855. The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canada, Canadian Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly of Quebec, National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request.
