Remote (EP)
''Remote'' is the second extended play (EP) by American band Wallows. It was released on October 23, 2020, through Atlantic Records. A deluxe version was released on February 19, 2021. Background Written and recorded during the COVID-19 lockdowns, the band collaborated virtually through the entirety of the album's creation process: Promotion On September 9, 2020, Wallows released the EP's first single "Nobody Gets Me (Like You)". On October 2, 2020, the EP's second single "Virtual Aerobics" was released. A music video was released alongside each single the same day. On October 28, 2020, an animated music video for "Wish Me Luck" was released. On February 15, 2021, "Quarterback" was released as the third single and first off the deluxe edition of ''Remote''. Wallows
Wallows is an American alternative rock band based in Los Angeles composed of Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston. The band began releasing songs independently in April 2017, starting with "Pleaser", which reached number two on the Spotify Global Viral 50 chart. In 2018, Wallows signed a deal with Atlantic Records and released their major-label debut EP, ''Spring''. The band released their debut studio album, '' Nothing Happens'', in 2019, which featured the single " Are You Bored Yet?", followed by their 2020 EP '' Remote''. Lydia Victoria Night (born October 13, 2000) is an American musician primarily known for her work as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of California rock band the Regrettes. She was also the lead vocalist and guitarist of pop rock bands Pretty Little Demons and LILA as well as a frequent collaborator with rock duo Dead Man's Bones. Mastering is a form of audio post production which is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the Audio mixing (recorded music), final mix to a data storage device called a master recording, the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or Replication (optical media), replication). In recent years, digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Emily B. Lazar is an American mastering engineer. She is the founder, president, and chief mastering engineer of The Lodge, an audio mastering facility that has operated in New York City's Greenwich Village since 1997. She won a Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for Beck's album ''Colors'', becoming the first female mastering engineer to win in this category. Autoharp
An autoharp or chord zither is a string instrument belonging to the zither family. It uses a series of bars individually configured to mute all strings other than those needed for the intended chord. The term ''autoharp'' was once a trademark of the Oscar Schmidt Inc., Oscar Schmidt company, but has become a Generic trademark, generic designation for all such instruments, regardless of manufacturer. History Charles F. Zimmermann, a German immigrant in Philadelphia, was awarded a patent in 1882 for a “Harp” fitted with a mechanism that muted strings selectively during play. He called a zither-sized instrument using this mechanism an “autoharp.” Unlike later designs, the instrument shown in the patent was symmetrical, and the damping mechanism engaged with the strings laterally instead of from above. Albert Louis Hammond Jr. (born Albert Louis Hammond III; April 9, 1980) is an American musician who is a member of the rock band The Strokes. He is best known for his role as rhythm and lead guitarist, as well as occasionally a keyboard player and backing vocalist for the band. Hammond has released extensive solo work, including five solo albums. Born in Los Angeles, Hammond is a first-generation American, his father the songwriter Albert Hammond being of British-Gibraltarians, Gibraltarian descent, and his mother being of Argentines, Argentine descent. He attended the same Swiss boarding school as his bandmate Julian Casablancas, where the two became friends.
