Regional Football League
The Regional Football League (RFL) was an American football minor league formed to be the self-styled "major league of spring football." Established in 1997, the league played a single season, 1999, and then ceased operations. History The RFL season was designed for spring-summer play with teams based primarily in the Southern United States. The debut season was originally slated to begin in March 1998, however this was delayed by a year. ''The Des Moines Register'' is the daily morning newspaper of Des Moines, Iowa, United States. History Early period The first newspaper in Des Moines was the ''Iowa Star''. In July 1849, Barlow Granger began the paper in an abandoned log cabin by the junction of the Des Moines and Raccoon River. Ladd–Peebles Stadium (formerly Ernest F. Ladd Memorial Stadium) is a stadium located in Mobile, Alabama. Opened in 1948, it has a seating capacity of 33,471. It is primarily used for American football. It is the home field the 68 Ventures Bowl through the 2024 season, and was the South Alabama Jaguars football, University of South Alabama Jaguars home stadium through the 2019 South Alabama Jaguars football team, 2019 season. Sherman Cedric Williams (born August 13, 1973) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys; he was a member of their Super Bowl XXX winning team. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 1995 NFL draft. Early life Williams attended Mattie T. The UCF Knights football team represents the University of Central Florida in the sport of American football. The Knights compete in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are a member of the Big 12 Conference. Marquette Smith (born July 14, 1972) is a former American football running back. Mostly known for his prep and college career, he spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL), but knee injuries in successive years during the pre-season kept him off the field. Biography Smith was an All-American running back at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida. In 1990, he was named High School Football Player of the Year by Gatorade, and Offensive Player of the Year by ''USA Today''. The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. Raymond 'Ray' Philyaw (born July 30, 1974) is a former arena football quarterback who was most recently the offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League (AFL). He also played for the Cleveland Gladiators, Chicago Rush, Kansas City Brigade, Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings and the Albany/Indiana Firebirds, leading the former to the American Conference championship game in 2004 and 2005.
