Region Västra Götaland
Region Västra Götaland, (''Swedish: Västra Götalandsregionen)'', is the devolved regional council of Västra Götaland County in Sweden. It was created in 1999 by the merger of the county councils of Gothenburg and Bohus, Älvsborg, and Skaraborg Counties coupled with the devolution of power from the County administrative boards of the same counties, that also merged. Elections in Sweden are held once every four years. At the highest level, all 349 members of Riksdag, the national parliament of Sweden, are elected in general elections. Elections to the 20 County councils of Sweden, county councils () and 290 Municipal assembly (Sweden), municipal assemblies () – all using almost the same electoral system – are held concurrently with the legislative elections on the second Sunday in September (with effect from 2014; until 2010 they had been held on the ''third'' Sunday in September). Västtrafik
Västtrafik is the agency responsible for public transport services involving buses, ferries, trains, and the Gothenburg tram network in the county of Västra Götaland, and Kungsbacka Municipality in Sweden. It was established with the Västra Götaland County on 1 January 1998. Until 31 December 2011 the ownership was shared equally between the Västra Götaland Regional Council and the 49 municipalities in the region, from 1 January 2012 the county council is the sole owner. The fleet consists of approximately 1900 vehicles. Operation Västtrafik is the brand name which is printed on tickets and vehicles. The NU Hospital Group consists mainly of two hospitals in Sweden; ''Norra Älvsborgs Länssjukhus'' in Trollhättan and ''Uddevalla Sjukhus'' in Uddevalla.
