Regen Projects
Regen Projects is a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles, California. History Regen Projects was founded in 1989 by Stuart Regen and Shaun Caley Regen at 619 North Almont Drive in West Hollywood, California. Artist Matthew Barney had his first solo gallery show at Regen Projects in 1991. The gallery was also the first to represent photographer Catherine Opie. Stuart Regen died in 1998 from non-Hodgkin lymphoma. In 2003, Regen Projects expanded to 633 North Almont Drive, and then in 2007, added another space at 9016 Santa Monica Boulevard, designed by architect Michael Maltzan. In 2012, the gallery opened a new space in Hollywood at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Highland Avenue, again designed by Maltzan. Hollywood is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California. Its name has come to be a shorthand reference for the U.S. film industry and the people associated with it. John Bock
John Bock (born 1965 in Schenefeld, Germany) is a German artist. He studied in Hamburg, Germany and lives and works in Berlin. Work Bock is a multi-media artist primarily known for his performances. Since 1991, he creates environments hand crafted from found materials which function as symbolic settings for his "lectures." More recently there has been an increased production of film and video work. In his "lectures", Bock acts on "stages" built from tables, cupboards or multi-level wood constructions. The objects are handmade or re-modeled accessories of the lecture, made out of clothing, electrical equipment such as hoovers and mixers, or "plastic diagrams" that illustrate his mathematical explanations. After the lecture, they are left on the stage which thus forms a "theatrical collage". Jack Pierson
Jack Pierson (born 1960 in Plymouth, Massachusetts) is a photographer and an artist. Pierson is known for his photographs, collages, word sculptures, installations, drawings and artists books. His "Self-Portrait" series was shown in the 2004 Whitney Biennial. His works are held in numerous museum collections. Work Pierson's practice embodies an array of media spanning from wall-drawings, word-pieces, installations, drawings, paintings and photographs. Elizabeth Joy Peyton (born 1965) is an American contemporary artist working primarily in painting, drawing, and printmaking. Raymond Pettibon
Raymond Pettibon (born Raymond Ginn, June 16, 1957) is an American artist who lives and works in New York City. Pettibon came to prominence in the early 1980s in the southern California punk rock scene, creating posters and album art mainly for groups on SST Records, owned and operated by his older brother, Greg Ginn. Elliott Hundley (born 1975 in Greensboro, North Carolina) is an American artist, living and working in Los Angeles.
