Redut (company)
Redut (russian: ЧВК «Редут», translit=ChVK «Redut»), also known as Redoubt, Redut-Antiterror or Centre R, formerly known as "Shield", is a Russian Private Military and Security Company (PMSC) that is part of the "Antiterror-family"—which consists of similarly named PMSCs that protect commercial operations of Russian companies. It is currently deployed by Russia in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was established in 2008, as a merger of several minor veteran groupings of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Russian Air Force and units of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), who had obtained combat experience in military and peacekeeping missions. Members of the group have been convicted of committing war crimes during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Kubinka
Kubinka (russian: Ку́бинка) is a town in Odintsovsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on the Setun River, west of Moscow. Population: __TOC__ History Kubinka, founded in the 15th century, may have been named after Prince , a prominent local land-owner who died in 1546. It grew in importance in the second half of the 19th century when the Moscow-Smolensk railway passed through the area. The military test-range for tanks opened in 1931 and the military airbase opened soon afterwards. In December 1941 the Red Army halted the Wehrmacht's drive towards Moscow on the outskirts of Kubinka. Kubinka gained town status in 2004. Battle Of Bakhmut
The Battle of Bakhmut is an ongoing series of military engagements in and near the city of Bakhmut between Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces during the larger battle for Donbas. Shelling of Bakhmut began in May 2022, but the main assault towards the city began on 1 August after Russian forces advanced from the Popasna direction after a Ukrainian withdrawal from that front. The main assault force primarily consists of mercenaries from the Russian paramilitary organization Wagner Group, supported by regular Russian troops and DPR and LPR separatist elements. As of late 2022, following Ukraine's Kharkiv and Kherson counteroffensives, the Bakhmut- Soledar front became an important focus of the war, being one of the few front lines in Ukraine where Russia remained on the offensive. The Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group (KhPG) is one of the oldest and most active Ukrainian human rights organizations.
