Red Gap
Red Gap, also known as Saggart Hill or Slieve Thoul, is a hill 397 metres above sea level situated 16 kilometres southwest of Dublin city centre in the Dublin Mountains close to Saggart and Rathcoole. The hill gets its name from the townland of 'Redgap' which lies just to the north of it. Today, Red Gap is home to farmland and telecommunication masts. The hill has FM radio transmitters for Newstalk, Kfm, LMFM, iRadio and East Coast FM. The hill is also home to low-power fill in transmitters of Nova 100 and 4FM, designed to cover the Dublin commuter belt The old-time song "Campbell's farewell to Red Gap" is believed to be referring to this hill. Radio Nova 100FM (Ireland)
Radio Nova is a radio station licensed by Coimisiún na Meán, based in Dublin, Ireland. It was awarded its broadcasting licence by the BAI in September 2008 and launched on 1 September 2010. It is the only Dublin radio station licensed to transmit to the extensive Dublin commuter belt, including Dublin and counties Wicklow, Kildare, Louth and Meath. NOVA broadcasts on 100.3 FM from Three Rock Mountain, Dublin, 100.5 from Saggart Hill, County Dublin, to serve County Kildare and 95.7 FM from Bray Head in North Wicklow, to cover County Wicklow. Tallaght ( ; , ) is a southwestern outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland. The central village area was the site of a monastic settlement from at least the 8th century, which became one of medieval Ireland's more important monastic centres. Ring Barrow
A ring cairn (also correctly termed a ring bank enclosure, but sometimes wrongly described as a ring barrow) is a circular or slightly oval, ring-shaped, low (maximum 0.5 metres high) embankment, several metres wide and from 8 to 20 metres in diameter. It is made of stone and earth and was originally empty in the centre. In several cases the middle of the ring was later used (at Hound Tor, for example, there is a stone cist in the centre). A megalith is a large stone that has been used to construct a prehistoric structure or monument, either alone or together with other stones. More than 35,000 megalithic structures have been identified across Europe, ranging geographically from Sweden in the north to the Mediterranean Sea in the south.
