Krypton (comics)
Krypton is a fictional planet appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, most commonly appearing or mentioned in stories starring the superhero Superman as the world from where he came. The planet was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and was named after the chemical element krypton. The planet was first mentioned in ''Action Comics'' #1 (June 1938) and made its first appearance in ''Superman'' #1 (1939). Krypton is also the homeworld of Supergirl, Krypto the Superdog, Beppo the Super-Monkey, Power Girl (in her case, an alternate-universe version designated "Krypton-Two"), and the supervillain General Zod. It has been consistently described as having been destroyed shortly after Superman's escape from the planet, although the exact details of its destruction vary by time period and writers. Leite Lopes Airport
Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport is an airport serving Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. Since December 11, 1956 it is named after José Leite Lopes (1918–2006), a Brazilian scientist. It is operated by Rede Voa. History Dr. Leite Lopes State Airport was opened on April 2, 1939, and soon after, in 1940, the runway was extended for the first time. In 1996 the whole airport complex received its major renovation in which the runway and adjoining taxiway were extended from 1,800m to 2,100m and a new larger apron was built. In 2006 the width of the runway was enlarged to 45m and finally in July 2010 the renovation and enlargement of the terminal building was completed. On July 15, 2021 the concession of the airport was auctioned to Rede Voa under the name Consórcio Voa NW e Voa SE. The airport was previously operated by DAESP. Rao's () is an Italian-American cuisine, Italian-American restaurant founded in 1896. It is located at 455 East 114th Street, on the corner of Pleasant Avenue in East Harlem (or Italian Harlem), New York City. Rao's has a sister restaurant in Los Angeles. History The restaurant was started in 1896 by Joshua Anthony Rao, who moved with his parents from Italy to the United States. He bought a small shop in Italian Harlem, once a very large Italian-American community, and ran the restaurant until his death in 1909. Louis Rao took over the business. Seen by many as a very suave man, he had his hair cut at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and wore many fancy suits. Rao's now sells products in gourmet markets and supermarkets. The Rawa people, also known as Rao or Rau in the Minangkabau language, are an ethnic group originating in Southeast Asia. Many Rawas migrated to Peninsular Malaysia during the 19th century. History It is uncertain whether the Rawas belong to the larger Minangkabau ethnic group. Fathil et al. note controversy but assert that most scholars believe the Rawas are part of the Minangkabau. Genetic analysis indicates a close relationship between the Minangkabau and Rawa peoples.
