Chiniot District ( Punjabi and ), is a district in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It became the district in July 2009. Before this, it was a tehsil of Jhang District. History Chiniot region was an agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley civilization. The Vedic period is characterized by Indo-Aryan culture that migrated from Central Asia and settled in Punjab region.
