Vojin B. Rakic (born 1967 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian philosopher and political scientist. He publishes in English, but also in Serbian. He has a PhD in political science from Rutgers University in the United States. Milica Rakić ( sr-Cyrl, Милица Ракић; 9 January 1996 – 17 April 1999) was a three-year-old Serbian girl who was killed by a cluster munition during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. Biography Milica Rakić was born in Belgrade on 9 January 1996. Her parents were Žarko and Dušica Rakić. She had an older brother named Aleksa. Between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on 17 April 1999, three-year-old Rakić was struck by shrapnel while in the bathroom of her second-floor apartment at 8 Dimitrije Lazarov Raša Street, in the Belgrade suburb of Batajnica. Her home was located from the Batajnica Air Base. Batajnica was repeatedly targeted by NATO during its air campaign against Yugoslavia, which lasted between March and June 1999. Mirjana Rakić (born March 7, 1948) is a Croatian journalist. Biography She spent most of her career in the editorials for foreign policy issues at TV Zagreb and later Croatian Radiotelevision. In 2005 she received the Maja Miles Prize for Journalism for her selection of topics that bring new and different sensibilities to the Croatian public space and raise the awareness about human rights and position of women at global level. Dušan Rakić ( sr-cyr, Душан Ракић; 12 September 1943 – 15 July 2020) was a Yugoslav and Serbian naval officer who also served as the Minister of Defense of the separatist, breakaway protostate Republic of Serbian Krajina during the Croatian War of Independence. Vićentije Rakić (29 April 1750 – 29 March 1818) was a Serbian writer, poet, priest, philanthropist and a disciple of Dositej Obradović. He founded the School of Theology (now part of the University of Belgrade) when in 1810 he headed a newly established theological college and in 1812 the first students graduated from it. Biography Born in 1750 in Zemun into a religious Serbian family, Rakić was baptized Vasilije on 29 April that year at Zemun, according to the customs of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Ljubisav Rakić (; 11 April 1931 – 14 October 2022) was a Serbian neurobiologist, professor and academic. Life and career Rakić was born in Sarajevo on 11 April 1931, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
