Railo
Railo Server, commonly referred to as Railo ( ), is open source software which implements the general-purpose CFML server-side scripting language, often used to create dynamic websites, web applications and intranet systems. CFML is a dynamic language supporting multiple programming paradigms and runs on the Java virtual machine (JVM). Railo was created by the Swiss company Railo Technologies GmbH, intended as a high performance alternative to Adobe ColdFusion. In 2008, Railo switched to an open source community-driven model, and became a JBoss project. The Railo Open Source project is led by Railo Technologies, with development work funded by consulting and support contracts, but anyone may contribute code for consideration. Naming Railo was named after an alien dog in Star Trek: Enterprise. The dog is actually named Rhylo, but written phonetically in German it is Railo. ColdFusion Markup Language, more commonly known as CFML, is a scripting language for web development that runs on the Java virtual machine (JVM), the .NET framework, and Google App Engine. Several commercial and free and open-source software implementations of CFML engines are available, including Adobe ColdFusion, Lucee, New Atlanta BlueDragon (Java and .NET versions), Railo, Open BlueDragon, and other CFML server engines. Lucee is an open source implementation of a lightweight dynamically-typed scripting language for the Java virtual machine (JVM). The language is used for rapid development of web applications that compile directly to Java bytecode, and is compatible with contemporary CFML script and tag language variants, and provides configurable support for legacy CFML. The Lucee language supports multiple development paradigms, including object orientation with inheritance and interfaces, and functional constructs like higher-order functions, closures, map(), and reduce(). Adobe ColdFusion
Adobe ColdFusion is a commercial rapid web-application development computing platform created by J. J. Allaire in 1995. (The programming language used with that platform is also commonly called ColdFusion, though is more accurately known as CFML.) Greyfriars Bobby
Greyfriars Bobby (4 May 1855 – 14 January 1872) was a Skye Terrier or Dandie Dinmont Terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner until his death on 14 January 1872. The story continues to be well known in Scotland, through several books and films. A prominent commemorative statue and nearby graves are a tourist attraction. Traditional view The best-known version of the story is that Bobby belonged to #John Gray, John Gray, who worked for the Edinburgh City Police as a watchman (law enforcement), nightwatchman. Barry (dog)
Barry der Menschenretter (1800–1814), also known as Barry, was a dog of a breed which was later called the St. Bernard (dog), St. Bernard that worked as a mountain search and rescue dog, rescue dog in Switzerland and Italy for the Great St Bernard Hospice. He predates the modern St. Bernard, and was lighter built than the modern breed. He has been described as the most famous St. Bernard, as he was credited with saving more than 40 lives during his lifetime, hence his byname meaning "people rescuer" in German. The legend surrounding him was that he was killed while attempting a rescue; however, this is untrue. Barry retired to Bern, Switzerland and after his death his body was passed into the care of the Natural History Museum of Bern. His skin has been preserved through taxidermy although his skull was modified in 1923 to match the Saint Bernard of that time period.
