Rahman Amouzad
Rahman Amouzad Khalili (; born 17 July 2001) is an Iranian freestyle wrestler who currently competes at 65 kilograms. The 2022 World champion, Amouzad reached silver medals while representing Iran at the 2024 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Asian Games. A three-time age-group World champion, Amouzad has earned medals at multiple international tournaments, such as the Asian Championships and the Individual World Cup. Career 2018–2020 In 2018 and 2019, Amouzad claimed gold medals at the U17 World Championships and the U17 Asian Championships, at 45 and 48 kilograms respectively. In October 2020, he competed at the Iranian Premier League for Islamic Azad University, scoring two wins at 61 kilograms on his senior level debut. In November, Amouzad trimmed down to 57 kilograms for the Iranian World Team Trials, dropping matches to Asian champion Reza Atri and U23 World medalist Alireza Sarlak. 2024 Grand Prix Zagreb Open
The 2024 Grand Prix Zagreb Open was a wrestling event held in Zagreb, Croatia between 10 and 14 January 2024. It was held as the first of the ranking series of United World Wrestling in 2024. With an aim to reward wrestlers participating in Ranking Series tournaments, the United World Wrestling will award prize money to the medal winners in all weight classes with a total prize money of 390,000 Swiss Francs. The gold medal winners at the four Ranking Series tournaments in 2024 will receive 1500 Swiss Francs with the silver medallists getting 750 Swiss Francs. The two bronze medallists will receive 500 Swiss Francs each. 2020 Individual Wrestling World Cup
The inaugural 2020 Individual World Wrestling Cup was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 12–18 December 2020. It was a replacement event for the 2020 World Championships, which should have taken place in the same location, but since some criteria were not fulfilled, such as not less than 8 top nations from the previous championships to participate, the event is not counted as world championships. The Cup took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused this and other problems. The United States for instance chose not to participate. Wrestling World Cup is an international wrestling competition among teams representing member nations of the United World Wrestling (UWW) the sport's global governing body. The cups have been conducted by FILA (the UWW predecessor) every year since the 1973 tournament. The World Cup began as a dual-meet competition for the top teams on each continent, but now features the top teams in the rankings of the previous year's world championships. Two individual competitions under the same name were held in 1956 and 1958 before establishing the current World Cup competition in 1973. Besides that, the UWW had another competition called the Individual World Cup as a replacement event for the 2020 World Cup Championships. The 2022 Asian Games (), officially the 19th Asian Games () and also known as Hangzhou 2022 ( zh, c=, s=杭州2022, labels=no), were a continental multi-sport event which was held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The games marked the 110th anniversary since the creation of the first continental event, starting with the 1913 Far Eastern Championship Games.
