Quality Record Pressings
Quality Record Pressings is a Gramophone record, vinyl record pressing plant launched by music entrepreneur Chad Kassem in Salina, Kansas, United States in 2011. QRP sought to improve premier audiophile pressings, introducing innovations never before tried in the record pressing industry. Company history Quality Record Pressings was born out of parent company Acoustic Sounds, Inc. Kassem started Acoustic Sounds in 1986 as a mail-order business specializing in the sale of audiophile vinyl LP record, LPs, Super Audio CD, SACDs, DVD-Audios, high-quality CDs and High-end audio, high-end stereo equipment. Acoustic Sounds sister business, Analogue Productions, reissues choice jazz, blues, classical music, classical and folk music, folk recordings. Analogue Productions now has more than 450 titles in print. Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English) or a vinyl record (for later varieties only) is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the outside edge and ends near the center of the disc. The stored sound information is made audible by playing the record on a phonograph (or "gramophone", "turntable", or "record player"). Records have been produced in different formats with playing times ranging from a few minutes to around 30 minutes per side. Blue Heaven Studios
Blue Heaven Studios is a recording studio located in a gothic-style church in Salina, Kansas. The studio is a division of Acoustic Sounds, Inc., founded by music entrepreneur Chad Kassem, and is the home of a yearly blues music festival — Blues Masters at the Crossroads. Church becomes recording studio Blue Heaven's shell is the former Salina First Christian Church, which Kassem purchased in 1996 after the church congregation relocated. The church was originally to be used solely to provide more storage space for Acoustic Sounds, Inc., an international LP record and CD mail-order business founded by Kassem in 1986. The church was designed by Salina architect Charles W. Shaver and was built starting in 1924 and completed in 1927. ''Tea for the Tillerman'' is the fourth studio album by singer-songwriter Cat Stevens, released in November 1970. Overview Stevens' fourth album released during the year 1970, ''Tea for the Tillerman'' includes many of his best-known songs such as " Where Do the Children Play?", "Hard Headed Woman", " Wild World", "Sad Lisa", "Into White", and " Father and Son". Lacquer is a type of hard and usually shiny coating or finish applied to materials such as wood or metal. It is most often made from resin extracted from trees and waxes and has been in use since antiquity.
