Quadripartite Committee
The Committees on Arms Export Controls (formerly the Quadripartite Committee) was the name for the concurrent meeting of four House of Commons select committees, comprising the International Trade Select Committee, the Defence Select Committee, the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, and the International Development Select Committee. The remit of the committee is to examine the Government's expenditure, administration and policy on strategic exports (licensing of arms exports and other controlled goods). In 2015 to 2016 the committee did not meet for over 9 months after the chairman Sir John Stanley retired as an MP, because of a long delay in appointing new members. Sir Mark Phillip Hendrick (born 2 November 1958) is a British Labour and Co-operative politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Preston since 2000. Hendrick was previously elected to the Lancashire Central constituency as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1994 to 1999. Mark Andrew Menzies (born 18 May 1971) is a British politician who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Fylde in Lancashire from 2010 to 2024. As a member of the Conservative Party, he was the parliamentary private secretary (PPS) to Charles Hendry, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change, before both were removed in the 2012 British cabinet reshuffle. Labour and Co-operative Party (often abbreviated to Labour Co-op; ) is a description used by candidates in United Kingdom elections who stand on behalf of both the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party. Candidates contest elections under an electoral alliance between the two parties, which was first agreed in 1927. Emma Louise Lewell (previously Lewell-Buck; born 8 November 1978) is a Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Shields since 2013. Lieutenant Colonel Tobias Martin Ellwood (born 12 August 1966) is a former British Conservative Party politician and soldier who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bournemouth East from 2005 to 2024.
