Plot Homer, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Grampa are watching a Dr. Nick program (who did not realize his patient was pregnant and even mistook the umbilical cord for an astronaut tether) when Marge turns off the TV and tells them that it is her mother Jacqueline's 80th birthday and the family should visit her. Homer is reluctant to go, claiming that the Bouviers hate him, but does so for Marge's sake. At Jacqueline's house, while watching slides which include Marge's father, Clancy, the question about how he died is brought up, something that Marge, Patty and Selma never knew about. Marjorie Jacqueline "Marge" Simpson () is a character in the American animated sitcom ''The Simpsons'' and part of the eponymous family. Rob Oliver (born 1977) is a director for ''The Simpsons''. He has also been a character layout artist, storyboard artist, assistant director, second unit director, and technical director over the course of his long career on the show. He graduated from Owosso (MI) High School in 1995, and the next year he was hired to draw characters on "The Simpsons". He has worked on hundreds of episodes. The twenty-seventh season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'' began airing on Fox in the United States on September 27, 2015, and ended on May 22, 2016. Patricia Maleficent "Patty" Bouvier and Selma Bouvier-Terwilliger-Hutz-McClure-Discotheque-Simpson-D'Amico () are fictional characters in the American animated sitcom ''The Simpsons''. They are identical twins and are voiced by Julie Kavner who also voices their sister Marge. Patty and Selma, both gravel-voiced chain-smokers, work at the Springfield Department of Motor Vehicles. They have a strong dislike for their brother-in-law, Homer Simpson, who likewise loathes them. Selma, the elder by two minutes, longs for male companionship and has had multiple brief, doomed marriages, and has herself offered help in some fashion to help Marge and Homer as she does envy their loving relationship; she receives occasional compassionate support from Homer who even poses as her husband to help her adopt a child.
