Post Independent School District is a public school district based in Post, Texas ( USA). Located in Garza County, small portions of the district extend into Lynn and Kent counties. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. In 2013 it had 818 students. Circa 2013 the district was to begin educating students at the Garza County Juvenile Detention Center in Post. Previously the John H. Garza County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,816, of which most of the population were residing in Its county seat, and only incorporated municipality, Post. The county was created in 1876 and later organized in 1907. Garza is named for a pioneer Bexar County family, as it was once a part of that county. Lynn County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,596. Its county seat is Tahoka. The county was created in 1876 and organized in 1903. Lynn County, along with Crosby and Lubbock Counties, is part of the Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). Braination is a non-profit educational organization headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. It was established in 1998 as the Educational Resource Center dba John H. Wood Jr. Public Charter District (JHW) and originally only operated disciplinary schools for youth who were being accused by the court system of juvenile delinquency.
