During the Balkan wars, Serbian chetniks massacred 50 Albanian families in the Poreče village of Drenovo. The village of Brod was considered by Serbian authorities to be a "haven for evildoers of Kičevo". Its possible that Haki Efendi of Teqe, a contemporary Albanian political leader was from the village of Brod, which at the time had a Bektashi tekke. North Macedonia, ; sq, Maqedonia e Veriut, (Macedonia before February 2019), officially the Republic of North Macedonia,, is a country in Southeast Europe. It gained independence in 1991 as one of the successor states of Yugoslavia. Makedonski Brod ( mk, Македонски Брод ) is a municipality in western North Macedonia, named after the town of Makedonski Brod, where the municipal seat is located. Makedonski Brod Municipality is part of the Southwestern Statistical Region. Khanqah
A khanqah ( fa, خانقاه) or khangah ( fa, خانگاه; also transliterated as ''khankah'', ''khaneqa'', ''khanegah'' or ''khaneqah''; also Arabized ''hanegah'', ''hanikah'', ''hanekah'', ''khankan''), also known as a ribat (), is a building designed specifically for gatherings of a Sufi brotherhood or ''tariqa'' and is a place for spiritual practice and religious education.
