Poopak Goldarreh
Poopak Goldarreh ( fa, پوپک گلدره; 30 July 1971 – 16 April 2006) was an Iranian actress, mostly famous in Iran because of her appearance in TV series such as ''Saat-e khosh'' and '' Nargess''. She played some roles in a few movies as well. Goldarreh was involved in a car accident on her way to Noor region in the north of Iran which left her in coma for 8 months. She died on 16 April 2006 at 34 years of age, and was buried in the artists' block of Behesht-e Zahra. Pahlavi Iran
The Imperial State of Iran ( fa, کشور شاهنشاهی ایران, ), also known as the Imperial State of Persia, was the official name of the Iranian state under the rule of the Pahlavi dynasty. It was formed in 1925 and lasted until 1979, when the Pahlavis were overthrown as a result of the Iranian Revolution, Islamic Revolution, which abolished Iran's continuous monarchy and established the present-day Iran, Islamic Republic of Iran. Behesht-e Zahra
Behesht-e Zahra ( fa, بهشت زهرا, lit. ''The Paradise of Zahra'', from Fatima az-Zahra) is the largest cemetery in Iran. Located in the southern part of metropolitan Tehran, it is connected to the city by Tehran Metro Line 1. History In the early 1950s, all the cemeteries in Tehran were supposed to be replaced by several large new ones outside the then precincts of the capital. Behesht-e Zahra was built in late 1960s on the southern side of Tehran towards the direction of the city of Qom and opened on 29 June 1970 by mayor of Tehran, Gholamreza Nikpey. It was named by Ayatollah Ahmad Khonsari. The first person buried in Behesht-e Zahra was Mohammad-Taghi Khial on 25 July 1970. Nargess (TV Series)
''Nargess'' ( fa, نرگس) is an Iranian TV program. It was supposed to be the first 90-episode drama on Iran's TV with such a story line, but the series finished in 69 episodes which was still the longest series in its kind broadcast so far. Poopak Goldarreh, who played the main character of the series named Nargess, died in a car accident when the series was filming its 37th episode. After this incident, Setareh Eskandari played as a substitute actress. The actress who portrayed Nasrin (Nargess' sister) refused to play for a few days because she couldn't bear playing with anyone other than Goldarreh. A notable point of ''Nargess'' is the performance of Hasan Pourshirazi as Mr. Shoukat, a wealthy cloth dealer in Tehran's bazar. Fajr Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival ( fa, جشنواره بینالمللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; fa, جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February and April in Tehran since 1982. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The awards are the Iranian equivalent to the American Academy Awards.
