''The Boys'' ( fi, Pojat) is a 1962 Finnish war drama film directed by Mikko Niskanen. It is based on a Pojat (novel), 1958 novel by Paavo Rintala. It was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival. The second lead role, Jake, was played by 17-year-old Vesa-Matti Loiri, who received the Jussi Awards certificate of honor for his role as a young actor.Arto Pajukallio: Elokuvat, page D 7. Pojat (novel)
''Pojat'' (meaning ''Boys'' in Finnish) is a famous 1958 Finnish novel by Finnish author Paavo Rintala published by the Finnish publishing house Otava. Also known as ''Kuvia v. 1941–44 Oulun'' (''Pictures of Oulu 1941–1944''), it conveys the life of school boys in the turbulent period of the World War II in Oulu in northern Finland. The young men, in the absence of their fathers who have gone to war, are fascinated by war and the German Army soldiers and dream of heroic deeds. One of them, Immu, starts to develop a critical stand toward death and war. Hannu, Hennu or Henenu was an Egyptian noble, serving as ''m-r-pr'' "majordomo" to Mentuhotep III in the 20th century BC. He reportedly re-opened the trade routes to Punt and Libya for the Middle Kingdom of Egypt. He was buried in a tomb in Deir el-Bahri, in the Theban Necropolis, which has been catalogued as TT313. He is known from two inscriptions, in Wadi Hammamat no. 114 (ca. 2000 BC) as ''hnw'' and in his Deir el-Bahari tomb as ''hnnw''. It is unclear whether the two inscriptions refer to the same person. Kauko Olavi Ahonen (21 July 1923 in Tikkakoski – 1 September 2000 in Helsinki, Finland) was a Finnish film actor. Ahonen first appeared in film in 1954 and made many appearances in Finnish film between then and 1997. He also appeared in many films by Spede Pasanen. From 1990 he only appeared on TV in Finland until his retirement in 1997. He died in 2000.
