Billy Pinnell (aka ''"The Traveller"'') (?-1977) was the sports editor of the ''Bristol Evening Post'' from the first day of publication in April 1932 until his retirement 34 years later on 31 December 1956. Career During his career he covered over 1,500 Bristol City and Rovers football matches. As over 600 of them were away from home, he lived up to his pen name of "The Traveller." He started with the '' Bristol Times and Mirror'' in 1919 later moving to the old '' Times and Ech'' o, before the inception of the '' Evening Post''. Billy Pinnell's record of service to local soccer began in 1909 when he first became a member of the Gloucestershire Football Association Council. Gay Su Pinnell
Gay Su Pinnell (born June 28, 1944) is an American educational theorist and a professor emerita at the School of Teaching and Learning at Ohio State University. She is best known for her work with Irene Fountas on literacy and guided reading a whole language teaching framework which layed the groundwork for the Fountas and Pinnell reading levels. Education Pinnell's parents were educators in Portales, New Mexico and Pinnell has an undergraduate degree from Eastern New Mexico University. In 1975, Pinnell earned her Ph.D. from Ohio State University where she worked on language in first grade students. In 2018, Lesley University awarded Pinnell an honorary doctorate to recognize her contributions to childhood literacy. Philip Matthew Pinnell (born August 15, 1979) is an American politician serving as the 17th lieutenant governor of Oklahoma, since 2019. Pinnell is also serving as the first Oklahoma Secretary of Tourism & Branding. Pinnell is a member of the Republican Party. Phillip Pinnell (born 7 January 1951) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Officially recorded with a playing height of 189 cm, Pinnell was a versatile footballer who spent most of his career playing either on the wing or in defence. He was described as having good pace, marking skills and big-game temperament, as evidenced by his efforts in several finals matches for Carlton. Pinnell was a defender but started off as a winger when he debuted for Carlton in 1969. He played in that season's losing grand final against Richmond.
