Pilot Speed
Pilot Speed (formerly known as Pilate) was a Canadian rock band, who were active in the early 2000s.Gerry Krochak, "Pilate strives for sincerity". ''Regina Leader-Post'', October 23, 2003. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the band consisted of vocalist and pianist Todd Clark, guitarist Chris Greenough, bassist Ruby Bumrah and drummer Bill Keeley. Clark was a graduate of the music program at the University of Western Ontario, while all of the other three members were alumni of OCAD University. They released their debut EP, '' For All That's Given, Wasted'', independently in 2001 before signing to MapleMusic Recordings, which released their full-length debut album '' Caught by the Window'' in 2003. The album was most noted for the single "Into Your Hideout"; the song's music video, directed by Maxime Giroux, won the MuchMusic Video Award for Best Independent Video at the 2004 MuchMusic Video Awards, and was a Juno Award nominee for Video of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2004. MuchMusic Video Award
The iHeartRadio MMVAs were an annual awards show broadcast on Much to honour the year's best music videos that was last held in 2018. Originally debuting in 1990 as the Canadian Music Video Awards, the awards were renamed in 1995 to the MuchMusic Video Awards, reflecting the original (1984–2013) "MuchMusic" name of the Much channel. In 2016, the show was rebranded under the iHeartRadio banner after Much's parent company, Bell Media, reached a licensing agreement with iHeartMedia. In 2018, the show's full name was officially dropped. In 2019, six years after changing the name of MuchMusic to Much, and having reduced its music video programming to just one hour daily (''Much Retro Lunch''), the ceremony was not held, citing supposed scheduling conflicts with other events occurring in Toronto. Hear Music was a record label that was founded in 2007 in a partnership between Concord Music Group and Starbucks. Hear Music began as a catalog company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1990 before being purchased by Starbucks in 1999. Concept The Hear Music brand has four components: the music that each location plays; in-store CD sales, including Starbucks exclusives; branded retail stores, which opened shortly after the catalog was formed, and a label distributing their recordings.
