Pierre Nguyễn Văn Nhơn
Pierre Nguyễn Văn Nhơn ( vi, Phêrô Nguyễn Văn Nhơn; born 1 April 1938) is a Viet Nam, Vietnamese prelate of the Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi, Archdiocese of Hanoi from May 2010 to November 2018. A Cardinal (Catholic Church), cardinal since February 2015, he was Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Đà Lạt from 1994 to 2010, and the President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam from 2007 to 2013. Biography Nhơn was born in 1938 in Lâm Đồng, Viet Nam. He was ordained a priest on 21 December 1967. On 11 October 1991, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Đà Lạt. On 3 December 1991, he was consecrated by Barthélémy Nguyễn Sơn Lâm. He succeeded as Bishop of Đà Lạt on 23 March 1994. Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc (11 November 1944 – 6 March 2018) was a Vietnamese prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City from 2014 to 2018 and the President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam from 2013 to 2016. Biography Paul Bùi was born on 11 November 1944 in Da Lat, Vietnam. In 1956, he started to study at a seminary in Sai Gon (now Ho Chi Minh City). He then continued his studies in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, from 1964 to 1970. In the Catholic Church, a titular church is a church in Rome that is assigned to a member of the clergy who is created a cardinal. These are Catholic churches in the city, within the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Rome, that serve as honorary designations symbolising the relationship of cardinals to the pope, the bishop of Rome.
