Pierre-Marie Carré
Pierre-Marie Carré (born 22 April 1947) is a French prelate of the Catholic Church who was archbishop of Montpellier from 2011 to 2022, where he was first archbishop coadjutor for a year. He was archbishop of Albi from 2000 to 2010. Biography Pierre-Marie Joseph Carré was born on 22 April 1947, in Serques, France. He attended the minor seminary of Bon Encontre, in the diocese of Agen. After earning a bachelor’s degree in 1966, he studied at the major seminary of Bordeaux, interrupting his studies to complete his military service. From October 1973 to May 1977, he studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and sacred scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute. He was ordained a priest on September 7, 1974, for the Diocese of Agen. In 1977 he was appointed professor of sacred scripture at the Interdiocesan Seminary of Bordeaux. Pierre-Marie Le Bozec (28 April 1769, in Île-de-Bréhat – 15 May 1830, in Île-de-Bréhat) was a French Navy officer. Biography Youth Le Bozec was born to a family of sailors, and started sailing in 1780 on a merchantman. From 1782, he took part in the Naval operations in the American Revolutionary War on the 80-gun ''Deux Frères'', captained by his father. From 1787 and 1789, he served as second captain on the ''Comte Esterhazy'' and the ''Colombe'', and on the ''Deux Frères'' again. First Republic Le Bozec was promoted to ensign in 1792. The following year, he was given command of the corvette ''Vaillante'', tasked with escort duties in the English Channel. He was involved in a fight with a British corvette, driving her away. Pierre-Marie Théas (September 14, 1894 – April 3, 1977) was a French Roman Catholic Bishop of Montauban and Bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes. A significant figure in Catholic resistance to Nazism in France, he was recognised as Righteous among the Nations by Yad Vashem for his efforts to protect Jews from the Nazi Holocaust. Pierre-Marie Termier
Pierre-Marie Termier (3 July 1859 – 23 October 1930) was a French geologist. He was born in Lyon, in Rhône, France, the son of Joseph François Termier and Jeanne Mollard. At the age of 18 he entered the Polytechnic School, then the Paris School of Mines in 1880. After graduation, he became professor at the school of mines at Saint-Etienne. In 1894 he left for Paris, where he would teach for the remainder of his career. He was elected as a member of the French Academy of Sciences in 1909, in the mineralogy section. Two years later he became the director of the French geological cartography service. In 1930 he became vice-president of the Academy. During his career he performed geological studies of the Alps, as well as Corsica and North Africa. He was a proponent of the nappe concept and of tectonics as a mountain-building force.
