Peter Atte Wode
Peter Atte Wode () was a Justice in Eyre for England south of the Trent from 1360–1367. Atte Wode was probably born in Coulsdon in Surrey (now Greater London) according to Manning and Bray's ''History of Surrey''. The precise date of his birth is not known, but it is presumed to have been sometime before 1325. His father was Geoffrey Atte Wode (Abt 1297–1346), a Serjeant-at-Arms to Edward III and his mother was Anisia. Peter and his wife, Laurencia, had at least one son who was also named Peter Atte Wode (Bef 1363-aft 1384) who was a Knight of the Shire and married Petronilla. On 15 March 1351 Peter Atte Wode and John De Roulegh along with seven others were appointed as "keepers" to the "joint commission for the peace and for labourers" in Surrey. This commission was formed in several counties in England to provide an enforcement for new laws that had been enacted to regulate labour and provide for peace after the Black Death decimated the population in 1348–49. Pete Wood
Peter Burke Wood (1 February 1867 – 15 March 1923) was a Canadian-American professional baseball pitcher. A right-hander, he played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball, 1885 and 1889. A native of Dundas, Ontario, Wood made his major league debut on 15 July 1885 with the Buffalo Bisons, the team which also featured on its roster his brother, Fred. The brothers were with the team for the remainder of the season, at the end of which Fred retired. Four years later, Wood returned to Major League Baseball, playing for the Philadelphia Quakers in 1889. His final game with the team was on September 7. Peter Wood (8 October 1925 – 11 February 2016) was an English theatre and film director. Biography Wood was born on 8 October 1925 in Colyton, Devon. His father Frank Wood was a basketmaker and his mother, Lucy Eleanor (Nell), née Meeson was a seamstress. Wood developed his interest in acting while at Taunton School. After school, he spent his National Service with the RAF in Canada and on his return he studied English at Downing College, Cambridge. Wood joined an acting troupe after university, and by 1955 he was running the Oxford Playhouse. The following year, he became resident director at the London Arts Theatre, working alongside Peter Hall During the late 1950s, Wood directed plays at Edinburgh festival and the Old Vic before travelling to Broadway to direct ''Five Finger Exercise''. Peter Denis Hill-Wood (25 February 1936 – 28 December 2018) was a British businessman and a chairman of Arsenal F.C., Arsenal Football Club. Biography Hill-Wood was born in Kensington, London, son of Denis Hill-Wood and his wife Mary Smith. His father, three uncles and grandfather all played first-class cricket for Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Peter Hill-Wood attended Ludgrove School and Eton College, where he was a classmate of former Arsenal director Sir Roger Gibbs. He then served in the Coldstream Guards. Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English actor, comedy writer and stand-up comedian. He has written, produced and acted in several television and film projects, and has written three books. Born and brought up in Bolton, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford. He began working part-time as a stand-up comedian, winning the North West Comedian of the Year award. Peter Wood (4 November 1935 – 24 January 2010) was an Australian politician. Wood and his identical twin brother Bill were the sons of Les Wood, also a Labor politician. Peter was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in 1966, representing Toowoomba East; he moved to Toowoomba South in 1972 but was defeated in 1974. Following his defeat Wood spent 22 years on Toowoomba City Council, serving as deputy mayor for 12 of those.
