Peter Pontiac
Peter Pontiac (born ''Peter J.G. Pollmann''; 28 April 1951 – 20 January 2015) was a Dutch cartoonist, comics artist and illustrator. He was the winner of the 1997 Stripschapprijs. Pontiac died on 20 January 2015, after a lengthy battle with severe liver disease. Biography He was known for leading a life in the fringe and was addicted to heroin for several years, something he drew autobiographical comics about as well. He illustrated various album covers for bands like Parados, Thud!, The Bouncers, The Schizofrenics, Dead Moon and bootleg singles by Lou Reed and Bob Dylan. At the time of his death, Pontiac was working on a new graphic novel (STYX of de zesplankenkoorts) about his disease and awaiting death. He got money for this project through crowd funding. Lettering For Oog & Blik he did the lettering of the Dutch editions of Art Spiegelman's ''Maus'' and Robert Crumb's ''Introducing Kafka''. Beverwijk
Beverwijk () is a municipality and a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The town is located about northwest of Amsterdam in the Randstad metropolitan area, north of the North Sea Canal very close to the North Sea coast. A railway tunnel and two motorway tunnels cross the canal between Beverwijk and the nearby city of Haarlem on the south side of the canal. Around 1640, a town called Beverwyck was founded in the Dutch colony of New Netherland. That town's modern name is Albany, New York. Population centres The municipality of Beverwijk consists of two cores, Beverwijk proper and Wijk aan Zee, to the west, right on the coast. ''Introducing Kafka'', also known as ''R. Crumb's Kafka'', is an illustrated biography of Franz Kafka by David Zane Mairowitz and Robert Crumb. Uitgeverij Lannoo Groep is a Belgian publishing group, based in Tielt, with assets in Belgium and the Netherlands. Its Belgian subsidiary is Uitgeverij Lannoo. Its Dutch subsidiary is LannooMeulenhoff. Over the years Lannoo evolved from Catholic and Flemish to an open, commercial publishing house. Uitgeverij Lannoo The publishing and printing company Lannoo was founded in 1909 by Joris Lannoo (1891–1971). Joris Lannoo was a member of the Flemish Movement.
