Perth Scorchers
The Perth Scorchers is an Australian domestic Twenty20 franchise cricket team representing the Western Australian city of Perth in the Big Bash League (BBL). The Scorchers are the current BBL Champions, having defeated the Sydney Sixers in the final of the 2021-22 season. They are also the most successful team in BBL history, winning four championships to date and being runners up on three occasions. They were defeated in their second final by the Brisbane Heat in BBL02. They then won the next two consecutive championships, becoming the first team to achieve the feat in the league's brief history. These wins came against the Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Sixers in a last-ball thriller at Canberra's Manuka Oval. Ashton Turner
Ashton James Turner (born 25 January 1993) is an Australian cricketer who debuted for Western Australia cricket team, Western Australia during the 2012–13 season, and is also contracted to the Perth Scorchers. From Perth, Turner represented Western Australia at under-15 (schoolboys), under-17 and under-19 level. and captained the under-17 team to their National Championships win. 2011–12 Big Bash League Season
The 2011–12 Big Bash League season or BBL, 01 was the inaugural season of the Big Bash League, the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The tournament replaced the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, which ran each season from 2005–06 to 2010–11. The tournament was won by the Sydney Sixers, which defeated the Perth Scorchers in the final at the WACA Ground on 28 January 2012. Laurie John Evans (born 12 October 1987) is an English cricketer, contracted to Surrey County Cricket Club. A right-handed top-order batsman, he has previously represented Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Sussex in county cricket, and since 2019 has been selected for global Twenty20 leagues, representing Rajshahi Kings, Multan Sultans, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Colombo Kings and the Perth Scorchers. Yasir Arafat Satti (born 12 March 1982) is a Pakistani first-class cricketer. He bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast. David Jonathan Willey (born 28 February 1990) is an English international cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and bowler. He is the son of former England cricketer and international umpire Peter Willey. Personal life Willey married singer-songwriter Carolynne Willey in November 2016. Cameron Bancroft
Cameron Timothy Bancroft (born 19 November 1992) is an Australian cricketer contracted to Western Australia in Australian first class cricket, Durham in English first class cricket, and the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. He made his Test debut for the Australian national team in November 2017. As a result of a Cricket Australia investigation into a ball tampering incident during the 3rd Test against South Africa in March 2018, Bancroft and two others, captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, were charged by Cricket Australia on 27 March 2018 with bringing the game into disrepute, suspended, and sent home from the tour. Michael Klinger
Michael Klinger (born 4 July 1980) is an Australian former first-class cricketer, who held the record for the most runs scored in the Big Bash League when he retired in 2019. Until the 2008–09 season, Klinger played for Victoria and for St Kilda Cricket Club in Premier Cricket. He joined the South Australia Redbacks for the 2008–09 season, was named their Captain in 2010, and was recognised as the State Player of the Year in both 2009 and 2010. He was one of the 350 players under the hammer for the IPL Auction 2011, and was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Shaun Marsh
Shaun Edward Marsh (born 9 July 1983) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Western Australia cricket team in Australian domestic cricket and has represented Australia in all three formats. 2018–19 Big Bash League Season
The 2018–19 Big Bash League season or BBL, 08 was the eighth season of the KFC Big Bash League, the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament started on 19 December 2018. Adelaide Strikers were the defending champions. The competition was extended to a full home and away season for the first time, with each team to play each other twice at both a home venue and away venue. This consists of 56 regular season matches, two semi-final fixtures and the final. For this season of the tournament, the toss was replaced by a bat flip, with "roofs and flats" used instead of heads or tails. The season saw Cameron Bancroft's return to professional cricket, following his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal in March 2018.
