Ambrose Hubert Peddle (8 October 1927 – 10 March 2014) was a Canadian politician. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Peddle worked for Newfoundland Railway from 1945 to 1947 and Customs & Excise from 1947 to 1949. From 1949 to 1951, he worked for the Government of Canada's Unemployment Insurance Commission. From 1951 to 1963, he was a sales manager at a retail furniture and appliances store. From 1963 to 1975, he was the owner of Small Business Enterprises. From 1961 to 1966, he was Mayor of Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador. He was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in 1962. Chuck Peddle
Charles Ingerham Peddle (November 25, 1937 – December 15, 2019) was an American electrical engineer best known as the main designer of the MOS Technology 6502 microprocessor, the single-board computer, and its successor, the Commodore PET personal computer, both based on the 6502. Biography Peddle was born in Bangor, Maine, United States on November 25, 1937. He worked in a radio station while in high school. In 1955, Peddle joined the United States Marine Corps. He attended the University of Maine where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in engineering physics. Afterward, he went to work for General Electric working with time-sharing systems. In 1973, Peddle worked at Motorola on developing the 6800 processor. Peddle recognized a market for a very low price microprocessor and began to champion such a design to complement the $300 Motorola 6800. Juliet A. Peddle (1899–1979) was an American modernist architect who was the first woman architect licensed by the state of Indiana and a cofounder of the Women's Architectural Club of Chicago. Early life and education Peddle was born on June 7, 1899, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to John B. and Alice O. Peddle. She was educated at the King Classical School, and she learned drawing from her father, who taught machine design at Rose Polytechnic Institute. She went on to earn a degree in architecture from the University of Michigan in 1920, the second woman to do so, following her friend Bertha Yerex Whitman. She then moved to Chicago, where she worked briefly for the architectural firm of Perkins, Fellows, and Hamilton. One of her coworkers there was Whitman, with whom she would go on to cofound (with seven other women) the Women's Architectural Club of Chicago. Geoff Peddle
Geoffrey Curtis Ralph Peddle (1 January 1963 – 8 October 2020) was the bishop of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador from 2014 to 2020. Early life and family Peddle was born in Bonavista and grew up in Trinity, Lethbridge and Whitbourne. He held a BA and an MA degree from Memorial University, an M.Div. degree from Queen’s College, and a Ph.D. degree from Cardiff University. He and his wife, Kathy, made their home in Mount Pearl near St. John's. They have two sons: Adam and Benjamin.
