Paulo Jr
Paulo Xisto Pinto Júnior (born 30 April 1969) is a Brazilian musician best known as the bassist for heavy metal band Sepultura. He joined Sepultura after Roberto Raffan left the band in 1984, becoming Sepultura's second bassist. Although no original members are left in Sepultura, Pinto is the longest remaining member of Sepultura despite never performing on any album until ''Chaos A.D.'' (1993). Early life and influences Paulo Jr. was born in Belo Horizonte, where he grew up with two brothers and a younger sister. His father was a lawyer. He received his first bass guitar, a white Giannini, when he was 15. In an interview, Paulo Jr. commended his parents for supporting the band in its early days. His influences include Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, Cliff Burton and Gene Simmons, though Paulo plays bass with a guitar pick rather than his fingers. Nova Rock Festival
The Nova Rock Festival, also just Nova Rock, is an Austrian rock festival that has existed since 2005 and takes place each year in June. It is located in Burgenland, the easternmost federal state of Austria, near Nickelsdorf and the Hungarian and Slovak borders. Geddy Lee
Geddy Lee (born Gary Lee Weinrib; July 29, 1953) is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the Canadian rock group Rush. Lee joined the band in September 1968, at the request of his childhood friend Alex Lifeson, replacing original bassist and frontman Jeff Jones. Lee's solo effort, ''My Favourite Headache'', was released in 2000. Jujutsu ( ; ja, link=no, 柔術 , ), also known as jiu-jitsu and ju-jitsu, is a family of Japanese martial arts and a system of close combat (unarmed or with a minor weapon) that can be used in a defensive or offensive manner to kill or subdue one or more weaponless or armed and armored opponents. Jiu-jitsu dates back to the 1530s and was coined by Hisamori Tenenouchi when he officially established the first jiu-jitsu school in Japan. Chakal (altered spelling of the Portuguese word for ''jackal''; ''chacal'') is a blackened thrash metal band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The band formed in 1985 and has to date released five albums through Cogumelo Records. Its debut record, ''Abominable Anno Domini'', has been described as an "influential, genre-defining" example of Brazilian heavy metal. History Chakal was formed in early 1985 by William Wiz (drums), Destroyer (bass), and Mark (guitars) in Belo Horizonte, home of such other influential bands as Mutilator, Holocausto, Sarcófago and Sepultura. Jairo Guedes Braga (born 25 November 1968), known professionally as Jairo Guedz, is a Brazilian guitarist and bassist, currently playing guitar for The Troops of Doom and The Southern Blacklist, and bass in a Metallica tribute band called Metallica Cover Brazil. He was the lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Sepultura from 1985 to 1987 and was part of the short lived project Guerrilha alongside Igor and Max Cavalera and Sílvio SDN of Mutilator. He also played with The Mist, Overdose and Eminence. Early life and influences Guedz was born on November 25, 1968 in João Monlevade, a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais. Morbid Visions
''Morbid Visions'' is the debut studio album by Brazilian metal band Sepultura, released on November 10, 1986, by Cogumelo Records. While later albums have a more political edge, ''Morbid Visions'' (along with the 1985 EP '' Bestial Devastation'') is notable for Satanic themes and imagery. The band said many lyrics were fashioned after those of early extreme metal bands such as Venom and Celtic Frost (note the similarity of the album title to ''Morbid Tales''). The production quality of the album is rather poor. In the liner notes of Roadrunner's reissue of the album (which includes the tracks from ''Bestial Devastation''), Cavalera admits that the band neglected to tune their guitars during the recording. They were only starting to learn English at this point, so they had to translate the lyrics word-for-word using a dictionary. Andreas Rudolf Kisser (; born 24 August 1968) is a Brazilian musician, best known for being the lead guitarist for the metal band Sepultura. He has been featured on every Sepultura release since their second album, ''Schizophrenia''.
