Patti, Punjab
Patti is an Old City, near Tarn Taran Sahib city and a municipal council of the Tarn Taran district in the Majha region of Indian state of Punjab, located 47 Kilometres from Amritsar. Patti city is situated close to the Pakistani border. It is connected through a rail network starting from Amritsar station to Khem Karan station, with Khem Karan being its last station of India. Patti was a residence of Rai Duni Chand, a rich landlord, one of whose daughters, Bibi Rajni was a known devotee of Guru Ram Das Ji. Mughal Governor of Punjab during Mughal period also lived in Patti. Before independence, Patti was a Tehsil of the Lahore district. The city houses a historic Mughal Fort and remains of the city wall as well as a number of other historical and religious places. Patti is a town and ''comune'' in northeastern Sicily, southern Italy, administratively part of the Metropolitan City of Messina, on the western shore of the gulf of the same name. Mount Patti
The Mount Patti Hill is a 1503 foot-tall (458 m) mountain and tourist attraction in Lokoja, Nigeria. It is famous for being the place where British journalist and writer Flora Louise Shaw (later Flora Lugard) gave Nigeria its name. The name (Nigeria) was coined by Flora Shaw in 1914 when looking at Lokoja from top of The Mount Patti. It came into her mind because of the view of the Niger River and Benue, 6 kilometers away from the Mount. In an essay that first appeared in ''The Times'' on 8 January 1897, Shaw suggested the name Nigeria for the British Protectorate on the Niger River. In her essay, Shaw made the case for a shorter-term that would be used for the "agglomeration of pagan and Mohammedan States" to replace the official title, " Royal Niger Company Territories". She thought that the term "Royal Niger Company Territories" was too long to be used as a name of a Real Estate Property under the Trading Company in that part of Africa. ''Patti'' is the seventh studio album released by American singer Patti LaBelle. It was released by Philadelphia International Records on July 3, 1985 in the United States. Background After seven years of modest success, Patti LaBelle finally became a mainstream solo star following the late 1983 release of the album, '' I'm in Love Again'', and its hit singles, "If Only You Knew" and "Love, Need and Want You" and the 1984 soundtrack singles " New Attitude" and " Stir It Up", the latter two were featured on the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy film, '' Beverly Hills Cop'', and launched LaBelle into pop stardom. Matilda Sissieretta Joyner Jones (January 5, 1868 or 1869 – June 24, 1933) was an American soprano. She sometimes was called "The Black Patti" in reference to Italians, Italian opera singer Adelina Patti. Jones' repertoire included grand opera, Comic opera, light opera, and popular music. Trained at the Providence Academy of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, Jones made her New York City, New York debut in 1888 at Steinway Hall, and four years later she performed at the White House for President of the United States, President Benjamin Harrison. She eventually sang for four consecutive presidents and the House of Hanover, British royal family, and met with international success.
