Parley P. Christensen
Parley Parker Christensen (July 19, 1869 – February 10, 1954) was an American attorney and politician who was a Utah House of Representatives, Utah state representative, a Los Angeles City Council member, and the Farmer–Labor Party's presidential nominee during the 1920 United States presidential election, 1920 presidential election. He was a member of several third parties and chairman of the Illinois Progressive party. Early life Christensen was born on July 19, 1869, in Weston, Idaho, to Peter and Sophia M. Christensen and was taken by them to Newton, Utah. In 1890 he graduated from the Southern Utah University, University of Utah Normal School and University of Utah, University of Deseret, then became a teacher and principal in Murray, Utah, Murray and Grantsville, Utah. Los Angeles City Council
The Los Angeles City Council is the legislative body of the City of Los Angeles in California. The council is composed of 15 members elected from single-member districts for four-year terms. The president of the council and the president pro tempore are chosen by the council at the first regular meeting of the term (after June 30 in odd-numbered years until 2017 and the second Monday of December in even-numbered years beginning in 2020). Joseph Howell
Joseph Howell (February 17, 1857 – July 18, 1918) was a U.S. Representative from Utah. Life and career Born in Brigham City, Utah Territory, Howell moved with his parents to Wellsville, Utah, in 1863. He attended the common schools and the University of Utah at Salt Lake City. He taught school, engaged in mercantile pursuits, and served as mayor of Wellsville from 1882 to 1884. Howell served in the territorial house of representatives from 1886 to 1892. After Utah gained statehood, Howell served as member of the State senate from 1896 to 1900. He was also regent of the University of Utah from 1896 to 1900. Howell moved to Logan, Utah, in 1901. Grantsville is the second most populous city in Tooele County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,617 at the 2020 census.
