''Pyst'' (stylised as ''PYST'') is an adventure PC game, computer game released in October 1996. It was created as a parody of the highly successful adventure game ''Myst''. ''Pyst'' was written by Peter Bergman (comedian), Peter Bergman, a co-founder of the Firesign Theatre, and was published by Parroty Interactive, with Bergman, Stallone, Inc. as co-publisher. Mindscape began distributing the game on August 20, 1997. The parody features full motion video of actor John Goodman as "King Mattruss", the ruler of "Pyst Island". Versions of the game were produced for both the Microsoft Windows, Windows Personal computer, PC and Apple Inc., Apple Macintosh operating systems. Parroty Interactive was a division of Palladium Interactive, whose other brands included Ultimate Family Tree and Palladium Kids. ''Star Warped'' is a 1997 first-person point-and-click adventure video game that parodies the '' Star Wars'' universe, specifically the original trilogy released between 1977 and 1983: '' Star Wars'', '' The Empire Strikes Back'', and '' Return of the Jedi''. It was created by Parroty Interactive, which was a division of the game's publisher, Palladium Interactive. ''Star Warped'' was released in the United States and Canada, for both Windows PC and Macintosh, in late 1997 as a follow-up to their debut '' Myst'' parody, ''Pyst''. Myst
''Myst'' is a 1993 adventure video game developed by Cyan and published by Broderbund for Mac OS. In the game, the player travels via a special book to a mysterious island called Myst. The player interacts with objects and traverses the environment by clicking on pre-rendered imagery. Solving puzzles allows the player to travel to other worlds ("Ages"), which reveal the backstory of the game's characters and help the player make the choice of whom to aid. Designers Rand and Robyn Miller had started in game development creating black-and-white, largely plotless works aimed at children. Peter Bergman (comedian)
Peter Paul Bergman (November 29, 1939 – March 9, 2012) was an American comedian and writer, best known as the founder of the Firesign Theatre. He played Lt. Bradshaw in the Nick Danger series. Biography Bergman was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated in 1957 from Shaker Heights High School in the Cleveland suburb. He studied economics at Yale University, where he contributed to the campus humor magazine '' The Yale Record''. He taught economics as a Carnegie Fellow, and also attended the Yale School of Drama as a Eugene O'Neill Playwriting Fellow, and wrote two musicals for the Yale Dramatic Association with Austin Pendleton, where he met acting student Philip Proctor. He was also a Woodrow Wilson Scholar. After college he worked with Tom Stoppard, Derek Marlowe, Piers Paul Read, and Spike Milligan. The Firesign Theatre (also known as the Firesigns) was an American surreal humour, surreal comedy troupe who first appeared on November 17, 1966, in a live performance on the Los Angeles radio program ''Radio Free Oz'' on station KPFK FM broadcasting, FM. They continued appearing on ''Radio Free Oz'', which later moved to KRLA 1110 AM broadcasting, AM and then KMET (FM), KMET FM, through February 1969.
