Pseudonocardineae
The Pseudonocardiaceae are a family of bacteria in the order Actinomycetales and the only member of the suborder Pseudonocardineae. Genomics The species within the family Pseudonocardiaceae form a distinct clade in phylogenetic trees based on concatenated protein sequences. Additionally, ''Nakamurella multipartite'', currently part of the order Frankiales, also formed a clade with the Pseudonocardiaceae species in 100% of the Bootstrapping (statistics), bootstrap replications of the phylogenetic trees. A conserved signature indels, conserved signature indel has been identified which is found in ''N. multipartite'' and all but one of the Pseudonocardiaceae species. This one-amino-acid insertion in UMP kinase serves to both provide a Genetic marker, molecular marker for nearly all of the Pseudonocardiaceae and suggests ''N. multipartite'' is closely related to this group. Some evidence also suggests the orders Pseudonocardiales and Corynebacteriales are closely related. Several cons ... Pseudonocardia Pini
''Pseudonocardia'' is a genus of the bacteria family Pseudonocardiaceae. Members of this genus have been found living mutualistically on the cuticle of the leafcutter ants because the bacteria has antibiotic properties that protect the fungus grown by the ants. When they are grooming, their legs are passed over their mouth gland (metapleural gland) that produces the antibiotic and then their legs touch the fungi while they are walking around. The ants have metapleural glands that produce the antimicrobial components to eliminate the ''Escovopsis'' fungi. The bacteria may also be found in crypts on the propleural plate. ''Pseudonocardia'' is found to have antibiotic properties provided to the leaf-cutter ant to inhibit the growth of ''Escovopsis'', which is a black yeast that parasitizes the leaf-cutter ant. ''Pseudonocardia'' can be found in both aquatic (including marine) and terrestrial ecosystems. ''Pseudonocardia'' belongs to the phylum ''Actinobacteria.'' Most ''Actinobacteri ... Amycolatopsis
''Amycolatopsis'' is a genus of high GC-content bacteria within the family Pseudonocardiaceae. The genus is known for producing many types of antibiotics, including *Epoxyquinomicin, related to ''Amycolatopsis sulphurea'', are a class of weak antibiotic and anti-inflammatory agent. *Vancomycin, obtained from ''Amycolatopsis orientalis'', is being used for infections resistant to other antibiotics. *Ristocetin, made by ''Amycolatopsis lurida'', was an antibiotic but ceased to apply due to adverse effects of platelet agglutination. Now it is used to assay von Willebrand disease. Degradation of bio-polymers Several bacteria from the genus ''Amycolatopsis'' are able to enzymatically hydrolyze the ester bonds of poly-lactic acid (Polylactic acid, PLA) films in aquatic medium. So far, it is one of the few known bacteria able to biodegrade the bioplastic outside compost facilities in a relatively short period of time. Species ''Amycolatopsis'' comprises the following species: * ''Am ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Crossiella
''Crossiella'' is a genus in the phylum Actinomycetota (Bacteria). Etymology The name ''Crossiella'' derives from: Neo-Latin named for Thomas Cross, a microbiologist at the University of Bradford, who made many contributions to actinomycete biology and systematics. Species The genus contains two species, namely * '' C. cryophila'' ( (Labeda and Lechevalier 1989) Labeda 2001, (type species of the genus); Greek ''kruos'', icy cold, frost; Neo-Latin ''philus'' from Greek ''philos (φίλος)'' meaning friend, loving; Neo-Latin ''cryophila'', cold-loving, referring to the low permissive temperature range for growth.) * '' C. equi'' ( Donahue ''et al''. 2002, ; Latin ''equi'', of the horse, referring to the source of isolation of this microorganism, equine placentas.)
