Prusa Research
Prusa Research (often referred to as just Prusa) is a Czech company that produces 3D printers, and was the world's second largest 3D printer manufacturer in 2020. It was founded in 2012 by Josef Průša, a developer in the RepRap project which has a strong emphasis on open-source hardware. In the past, all printers produced by the company were open source – their design plans were fully available online and anyone could use them, for example to improve an existing printer. Some examples are the Prusa i3, Prusa Mini and Prusa XL. As of 2023, the company started partially abandoning this open-source concept due to competition from others (including their open-source software being used by competitor Bambu Lab), and in 2024 launched their second CoreXY printer Prusa Core One which is no longer fully open-source. Hardware Prusa Research currently as of 2025 offers the FDM printers Prusa MK4S, Prusa XL, Prusa MINI+, and Prusa CORE One. The MK4S and MINI+ use a traditional car ... The Prusa i3 is a family of fused filament fabrication 3D printers, manufactured by Czech company Prusa Research under the trademarked name Original Prusa i3. Part of the RepRap project, Prusa i3 printers were called the most used 3D printer in the world in 2016. The latest model (Prusa MK4S on sale as of August 2024) is available in both kit and factory assembled versions. The Prusa i3's comparable low cost and ease of construction and modification made it popular in education and with hobbyists and professionals, with the Prusa i3 model MK2 printer receiving Prusa i3#Recognition, several awards in 2016. The i3 series is released under an Open-source hardware, open source license, which has led to many other companies and individuals producing Prusa i3#Variants, variants and clones of the design. Prussia (region)
Prussia (; ; ; ; ; //) is a Historical regions of Central Europe, historical region in Central Europe on the south-eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, that ranges from the Vistula delta in the west to the end of the Curonian Spit in the east and extends inland as far as Masuria, divided between Poland (Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship), Russia (Kaliningrad Oblast) and Lithuania (Lithuania Minor). This region is often also referred to as Old Prussia. Tacitus's ''Germania (book), Germania'' (98 AD) is the oldest known record of an eyewitness account on the territory and its inhabitants. Pliny the Elder had already confirmed that the Romans had navigated into the waters beyond the ''Cimbric peninsula'' (Jutland). Swedes (Germanic tribe), Suiones, Sitones, Goths and other Germanic people had temporarily settled to the east and west of the Vistula River during the Migration Period, adjacent to the Aesti, who lived further to the east. Prusa (Bithynia)
Prusa or Prousa (), or Prusa near Olympus or Prusa under Olympus (), was a town of Bithynia or of Mysia situated at the northern foot of Uludağ, which was called the "Mysian Olympus". Pliny the Elder states that the town was built by Hannibal during his stay with Prusias I, which can only mean that it was built by Prusias, whose name it bears, on the advice of Hannibal. It is acknowledged by Dio Chrysostom, a native of the town in the first and second centuries, that it was neither very ancient nor very large. It was, however, as Strabo remarks well governed, continued to flourish under the Roman emperors, and was celebrated for its warm baths that bore the name of the "royal waters." Under the Byzantine emperors it suffered much during the wars against the Ottoman Turks; when at last it fell into their hands, it was for a time the capital of their empire under the name of Bursa, which it still bears. Its site is occupied by the modern city of Bursa, Anatolia. See also *List of ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
