Profitis Ilias Mountains
Profitis () is a village and a Communities and Municipalities of Greece, community of the Volvi (municipality), Volvi municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform, it was part of the municipality of Egnatia, Thessaloniki, Egnatia, of which it was a municipal district. The 2021 census recorded 870 inhabitants in the community. The community of Profitis covers an area of 48.806 km2. Thessaloniki ( ''Mitropolitiki enotita Thessaloníkis'', ''Metropolitan unit of Thessaloniki'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Modern regions of Greece, Region of Central Macedonia and its capital is the city of Thessaloniki. The municipalities of Greece ( , in singular case ) are the lowest level of government within the organizational structure of the state. As of 2021, there are 332 municipalities, further divided into 1036 municipal units and 6136 communities. Thirteen administrative regions form the second-level unit of government. Vasil Kanchov
Vasil Kanchov (26 July 1862 – 6 February 1902) was a geographer, ethnographer and teacher who served as Minister of Education of Bulgaria. Early life and education Vasil Kanchov was born in Vratsa. Upon graduating from High school in Lom, Bulgaria, and later he entered the University of Harkov, then in the Russian Empire. During the Serbo-Bulgarian War 1885 he suspended his education and took part in the war. Later, he went on to pursue studies at universities in Munich and Stuttgart, but in 1888 he interrupted his education again due to an illness. Career In the following years Kanchov was a Bulgarian teacher in Macedonia.
