Alice Prochaska
Alice Prochaska ''née'' Barwell, (born 12 July 1947) is a former archivist and librarian, who was Pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Oxford and Principal of Somerville College, Oxford, from 2010 to 2017. Career Alice Prochaska studied at Somerville College in the University of Oxford and received BA and DPhil degrees in Modern History. Prochaska was initially a museum curator, and then an archivist at the Public Record Office, now The National Archives. From 1984 to 1992 she was administrator and deputy director at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London. From 1992 to 2001 she was Director of Special Collections at the British Library. She then became head librarian at Yale University, United States, from 2001 to 2010. She became Principal of Somerville College from 1 September 2010. She was affectionately known as 'Ali P' by the student body. She stepped down at the end of her seven-year term in August 2017. Ray Prochaska
Raymond Edward Prochaska ( ; August 9, 1919 – March 9, 1997) was an American gridiron football player and coach. He attended the University of Nebraska and played one season in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Ray Prochaska was born in Ulysses, Nebraska, to Emil Prochaska and Marie Fredlick, having Czech and Moravian ancestry. He attended high school in Ulysses before enrolling at the University of Nebraska, where he played college football. Prochaska helped take the Cornhuskers to the 1941 Rose Bowl, where they were defeated by the Stanford Indians, 21 to 13. Prochaska was drafted by and made his professional debut in the National Football League in 1941 with the Cleveland Rams before leaving football for military service during World War II. Eleonore Prochaska
Marie Christiane Eleonore Prochaska (11 March 1785, in Potsdam – 5 October 1813, in Dannenberg) was a German female soldier who fought in the Prussian army against Napoleon during the War of the Sixth Coalition. Life Prochaska's father was a noncommissioned officer in the Prussian guards, serving on a low income. She grew up poor and was sent by her father to the military orphanage in Potsdam when her mother died. There she later found work as a domestic servant, though she was also interested in the war against Napoleon from an early age. During these wars Prochaska disguised herself as a man and registered for 1 Jägerbataillon of the Lützow Free Corps under the name August Renz in 1813, serving first as a drummer, then later in the infantry. She was severely wounded at the Battle of the Göhrde and field surgeons, rushing to treat her wounds, discovered she was a woman and took her to Dannenberg, where she succumbed to her wounds three weeks later. Georg Prochaska
Georg Prochaska (sometimes also Juri, Jiří or Georgius Prochaska; ; 10 April 1749 – 17 July 1820) was a Czech-Austrian anatomist, ophthalmologist, physiologist, writer and university professor. He lived in the Holy Roman Empire and then in the Austrian Empire. He wrote the first genuine textbook on physiology and created the concept of nerve conduction among other theories. He was a staunch promoter of the modern reflex theory. Life Prochaska was born on 10 April 1749 in Blížkovice. He studied medicine in Prague and Vienna, and from 1778 until 1791 was a professor of anatomy, physiology and ophthalmology at the University of Prague. In 1791 he succeeded Joseph Barth as professor of anatomy and ophthalmology at the University of Vienna. He died on 17 July 1820 in Vienna. Discoveries Prochaska was a pioneer in the field of neurophysiology, being remembered for developing a comprehensive theory of reflex action involving the concepts of "vis nervosa" and "sensorium commune". ...

Antoni Prochaska (Mai 24, 1852 – September 23, 1930) was a Polish historian. He was born in a village of Zalishchyky, Austrian Empire (now Chortkiv Raion, Ternopil Oblast) the oldest son of Andrzej, a ranger, and Angieszka.
