Pontiac Montana SV6
The Pontiac Montana (also Pontiac Montana SV6) is a minivan that was sold by Pontiac (automobile), Pontiac from the 1997 to 2009 model years. The successor to the Pontiac Trans Sport, the nameplate was introduced in 1997 as a trim package for its predecessor. For 1999, Pontiac introduced the Montana as a distinct model line (2000 in Canada). Initially marketed between the Chevrolet Venture and the Oldsmobile Silhouette, the model line was later slotted between the Chevrolet Uplander, Saturn Relay, and Buick Terraza. Pontiac, formally the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors, was an American automobile brand owned, manufactured, and commercialized by General Motors. It was introduced in 1926 as a General Motors companion make program, companion make for GM's more expensive line of Oakland Motor Car Company, Oakland automobiles. Pontiac quickly overtook Oakland in popularity and supplanted its parent entirely by 1933, establishing its position as one of GM's dominant divisions. The General Motors 60° V6 engine family is a series of V6 engine#60 degrees, 60° V6 engines produced for both longitudinal engine, longitudinal and transverse engine, transverse applications. All of these engines are 12-valve cam-in-block or overhead valve engines, except for the #LQ1, LQ1 which uses 24 valves driven by dual overhead cams. These engines vary in displacement between and have a cast-iron block and either cast-iron or aluminum heads. MacPherson Strut
The MacPherson strut is a type of automotive suspension system that uses the top of a telescopic damper as the upper steering pivot. It is widely used in the front suspension of modern vehicles. The U-platform (or U-body) is a front wheel drive minivan and crossover SUV platform from General Motors produced since 1990. North American sales ended in 2009, but Chinese production continues. The minivans were divided into three generations, 1990–1996, 1997–2005 and 2005-current. The U-body was also used for General Motors' first generation crossovers from 2001-2005.
