Polytechnic ATMI Surakarta, formerly called Academy of Industrial Machine Engineering, Indonesia, is a mechanical engineering academy established in 1968 with support from the Karya Bakti Foundation of the Indonesian Jesuits. It has developed into a higher education institution with a considerable influence on professional education, especially in the mechanical engineering industry (manufacturing engineering). It is owned and managed by the Society of Jesus. Program ATMI Polytechnic Surakarta is an institution of higher education which concentrates on vocational education in manufacturing in Indonesia, having adopted a ''dual system'' education model from Germany and Switzerland.
