Plagiarism (EP)
''Plagiarism'' is an EP by American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan, released on the iTunes Music Store on June 13, 2006. The title is a reference to the fact that four of the EP's six tracks are covers faithful to the original songs. "Like I Love You" was first performed with Mike Patton on New Year's Eve 2002. The version on the EP, however, is a studio version with Greg Puciato on vocals. "Wish" has been performed occasionally by the band, and the band was asked to join Nine Inch Nails to perform the track during two shows of the 2009 Soundwave Festival, as well as during the final performance of the Wave Goodbye Tour on September 10, 2009 at the Wiltern Theatre. The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Dillinger Escape Plan was an American metalcore band. The band was formed in 1997 in Morris Plains, New Jersey by guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Adam Doll, vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, and drummer Chris Pennie. The band's use of odd time signatures, polyrhythms and unconventional drum patterns became a staple of their sound, although later albums incorporated more melody, and influences from a range of genres. The band's lineup shifted numerous times throughout its existence; by the time the group dissolved, Weinman was the only remaining founding member. The last surviving lineup also included longtime members Liam Wilson on bass, Greg Puciato as lead vocalist, and Billy Rymer on the drum kit, alongside then-newcomer Kevin Antreassian as rhythm guitarist. Jesus Christ Pose
"Jesus Christ Pose" is a song by the American rock band Soundgarden, released in 1991 as the first single from the band's third studio album, '' Badmotorfinger'' (1991). The song was included on Soundgarden's 1997 greatest hits album, ''A-Sides''. Origin and recording "Jesus Christ Pose" features lyrics written by frontman Chris Cornell and music co-written by Cornell, drummer Matt Cameron, bassist Ben Shepherd, and guitarist Kim Thayil. Some see the song as defining the "essence" of Soundgarden, as it is credited to all four band members. Cameron said, "As soon as I played this pattern everyone dove right in, and within an hour we had the guts of the song. The approach we took on this one was pure assault of the senses. Chris Pennie
Chris Pennie (born May 31, 1977) is an American musician who is the former drummer for the progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria and former drummer and co-founder of mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan. Background Pennie began playing drums at the age of 13, and at age 16 decided to pursue music seriously. He grew up in Randolph, New Jersey and graduated from Randolph High School, and spent two years at Berklee College of Music where he received a diploma in Music Synthesis, which focuses on electronic music composition and manipulation. Influences and legacy Pennie has cited drummers Lars Ulrich and Stewart Copeland as his main early influences. In regard to his current playing, Sean Reinert is one of his biggest inspirations. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Liam Wilson
Liam Wilson (born December 22, 1979) is an American musician. He has been the bass player for The Dillinger Escape Plan since 2000 and is a former bass player of Starkweather. Currently, he is a part of Azusa, a project formed with members of Extol and Sea + Air, as well as John Frum, which features a John Zorn collaborator and ex-member of The Faceless. He is an advocate of veganism. Personal life Concerned about environmental causes, Wilson wore a shirt with the homemade message "Stop MTM/VF" on The Dillinger Escape Plan's February 2, 2008 appearance on ''Late Night with Conan O'Brien''. Wilson has been a big advocate for veganism and has appeared in several pro-vegan advertisements for PETA, although in recent years he has distanced himself from the organization and is more flexible about those beliefs because of his yoga, and transcendental meditation practices. In music performances, rhythm guitar is a technique and role that performs a combination of two functions: to provide all or part of the rhythmic pulse in conjunction with other instruments from the rhythm section (e.g., drum kit, bass guitar); and to provide all or part of the harmony, i.e. the chords from a song's chord progression, where a chord is a group of notes played together. Therefore, the basic technique of rhythm guitar is to hold down a series of chords with the fretting hand while strumming or fingerpicking rhythmically with the other hand. James Love (musician)
James Love is a Canadian guitarist from British Columbia. From 2010 to 2016, he was a member of the Canadian new wave/synthpop band Men Without Hats. Musical career A graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, Love toured as a guitar technician in the road crew of Fenix TX, a Houston pop punk band. He joined the group as a full member in early 2001, replacing Damon DeLaPaz as guitarist after the departure of drummer Donnie Reyes caused DeLaPaz to move to drums. Love played on the band's final studio album, '' Lechuza'', released in May 2001, and after a concert tour, he left the group later the same year. From 2004 to 2006, Love toured with the Dillinger Escape Plan, and became a member of that band in 2013. Love was also in a Houston-based heavy metal band called Torches of Fury, with whom he recorded the group's self-titled 2006 EP.
